Question about tire replacement...

Hey everyone,

I have a quick question about tire replacement:

(Background: 2005 Accord Sedan, Yokohama Avid V4S 205 6016)

Two of my tires have irreparable sidewall damage and must be replaced. The other two are just north of 1/2 tread.

Should I replace all four tires or start a 2 tire cycle?

Also, any tire suggestions? Anyone have experience with the General Altimax HP?

If the good Avids will last another 20K miles, just get two new ones put on back.
If the good tires won't last another 20K, get 4 new ones.

Oh, and if you use snow tires in winter and the good Avids will last more than 15K, just get 2 new tires.

the altimax aren't too bad. they lasted about 20-25k on the integra. When they need to be replaced, they will read "replace tire" instead of "replacement tire monitor"
these tires aren't that great when they get below 50% tread but work pretty well in the rain

They were pretty quiet and pretty inexpensive.

I would also check out kuhmo solus, they work well.

Thanks for the input, guys. I've decided to go with AZuser's suggestion. j/k

I think that I will go ahead and just replace two... How much of a difference will it make if I mix the tires -- the Avids up front and the Generals in the back?
