just wondering if they ever made the interior color for the car in black or if it was only in dark grey and lite grey? Thanks!

 

There were several interior colours for the 1.7EL.

For the Touring's (cloth/no sunroof) seats, the choices were:
-Parchment (only on Desert Mist Metallic, my brother has a 2001 Touring like this)
-Grey
-Black
but that was back in the day, now, for the 2005, this is how it is:

Touring Exterior/Interior:
Nighthawk Black Pearl/Black Cloth
Aspen White Pearl/Black Cloth
Magnesium Metallic/Black Cloth
Satin Silver Metallic/Black Cloth
Fiji Blue Pearl/Black Cloth
Tango Red Pearl/Black Cloth

so you can see that now it's the ONLY choice for the Touring.
As for the Premium (gets heated leather seats and a sunroof, although I think for 2005 the Touring already has the sunroof), here's what they come in as of 2005:

Nighthawk Black Pearl/Black Leather
Aspen White Pearl/Black Leather
Magnesium Metallic/Black Leather
Satin Silver Metallic/Black Leather
Fiji Blue Pearl/Black Leather
Tango Red Pearl/Black Leather

You can't get anything else anymore.

 

And of course, only available in Canada. Decent car. But, not my bowl of rice...

 

...but if I had to choose between a Civic and the EL, I'd take the EL anyday. Yes...the technologies (auto climate control for one) spoiled me. The last 2 cars I've had had auto temp control. Heh...we now have 4 cars at home and only one car has manual temp control. Our '05 Odyssey is even better with dual zone control.
