Pull the trigger or wait?

I've been itching for an M5 for quite some time...I love the 3 and have enjoyed it for about a year but it gets limited use...Anyways, I found this gorgeous example(with my dream color combo!) for sale on Ebay although the car is located in Springfield,MO. I know the opinions on the design are divided but I personally find it really attractive. The fact that it is a 4 door is big plus to transport the kids around.
What makes me cringe though is that for about a little more than ten grands, I could get into a Vantage V8! I have no need to get the car right now but I'm exploring my possibilities...
Here is how the M5 looks like:

couple things:
Have you test drove or thought about a new M3? I know dealers won't "talk down" on price but going up to a M5 A good jump in price plus the new M3s are within about 85 hp of the m5s.
Have you thought about a Nissan GT-R? that's in your price range. however your gonna probably be waiting 2 years due to Nissan announced they have (as of December 31st,07 2500 GT-Rs sold and their only producing 1500 per year for the U.S.

IMO: i'm not hip on red leather or white exterior but the M5 is a hell of a car.

Pull the trigger or not?

I've been itching for an M5 for quite some time now, since it's debut in 05. I've really come to enjoy the 3 for the year I've had it,but not only it gets limited use but I find that it doesn't suit my needs. In other words, I need four doors to transport the family, coworkers and friends. So, I found a stunning model of the color combination I was looking into and now I'm wondering if I should pull the trigger, sell the 335i and the MDX. So the equation seems easy and I'm thinking I should probably go for it. The dilemma now, is that, not too far from my parents place in Rockville, USA, there is a V8 Vantage for sale. It's asking price is more than the M5 but thinking that option could be open to us excites the hell out of us. Now we would be sacrificing three cars my 3, the mdx and her audi tt as well. One side of me says it's still a car and 100k shouldn't be spent on a vehicle. One side of me tells me that it's still a pretty penny for a car but the other says hell go for it. What to do?

If a 335i coupe doesn't work for you a Vantage would be a nightmare. I'd say go with the M5, its a fantastic car that sounds better suited to your lifestyle.

love the outside of the vantage but hate the inside, it almost looks cheap to me in those pictures. the M5 on the other hand looks great on the outside and on the inside.

Just thought of this, I know its a love it or leave it type car, but you can get some tremendous deals on the Quattroporte, its as close to the Vantage as one can get with 4 doors, well aside from the genesis.

Does Canadia have restrictive rules on tinting? I've seen black Qportes with nice tints in Rome and the car was just oozing class and substance.

Love the Quattroporte. It's a 4-dr but not a barge like a 7er, S-Class, A8.

I'd kill for a Vantage. But you seem to need the space. Go for the M5.

I've never been too hooked by the RS4 to be completely honest with you. It's a really capable all wheel drive sport sedan but, I want to go with a rear wheel drive car. I use the Tundra they gave me at work to go against the snow.

Looks like it's QP vs M5 now..

Some suggested the QP. I found this one...an 06 with 3,000 miles for a little(3 or 4grands) more than the M5.

don't get me wrong the QP performs well: but the lines doesn't flow well in my opinion.
it looks like a miata headlights flows into a previous generation Caddy DTS taillights.

I was in this position two years ago when I bought my M5.

Between QP and M5. I take M5 over QP. M5 is more edgy than QP in terms of vehicle dynamic. QP is more luxurious sport sedan as compare to the M5.

With the M5, my suggestion is to find a car with pilots instead of contis. I had contis on my 06, and the tire just blows.

You seem sold on white.

I don't think it's the most flattering color on any car but I think it makes exotics look more ordinary.

M5 in white with the guidosex red leather hotness. Quattroporte is nice, but I would be weary of reliability.

If you are going to spend that kind of $ why not go exotic and get a used 360 or diablo over the overpriced jag called a Vantage? They would have the same reliability bs so why bother with the am.

I've never actually thought of owning a Ferrari let alone a 360 Modena...Seems like some good deals can be had for around the 100k mark..Diablo is just too much. If we do decide for a two door sports car though, we'll have to look into an Odyssey or a Dodge Caravan as a kid hauler.

I will not let her lap get beaten and used by an evenflo or Graco car seat. I still need to use her thighs.

Overpriced Jag...!? Scuse me...?

And oh, I suppose buying a 360 and living with the $$$$$$ maintenance is REALLY gonna be good.
