FELLBACH, Germany — PPI Automotive Design showed off the Razor, its take on the Audi R8, at last year's Essen tuner show. This year, the firm is releasing an even hotter version, the Razor GTR.
PPI has managed to boost the Razor's output and trim its weight by more than 550 pounds. With the addition of a supercharger, sport air filter and tuned stainless steel exhaust system, the car's 4.2-liter V8 now makes 573 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. Combined with the lower mass, the engine now propels the Razor GTR to a top speed of 206 mph, with 0-60-mph acceleration in less than 3.7 seconds.
PPI has fitted Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires on extra-wide forged alloy wheels — 19s in front, 20s in the rear — as well as upgraded brakes and a KW adjustable coil-over suspension.
A wide-body aero kit and carbon fiber interior accents are part of the package.
