Porsche Cayenne

Does anyone own one or has any experience with it? A friend of mine is thinking about buying but we don't know anyone who has it or can give us more info (other than a dealer). She has a RL now and wants a SUV. Cayenne is her number 1 pick, followed by H3 (), Volvo and Touareg.

Or, what other SUVs would you recommend?

I've driven a Cayenne S a lot...The thing has a SHITLOAD of low end torque. Tiptronic on the steering wheel is nice. Its comfortable and fast, handles well.

In the end its an SUV. But i was impressed.

Test drove one when I was debating whether or not I wanted another car or try an SUV.

I personally was about to buy the Range Rover Sport...but I got a great deal on another car...so I went with it.

The Cayenne handles like a sports car....but looks like shit.

Im a fan of its brother...the Toureg V10 TDI

Those H2s and H3s are just plain :ghey:

I love the cayenne. My mom just got one about 3 weeks ago. Handles great, good power across the entire power band, sounds pretty tight for a SUV...Interior is little boring but fits. I think the exterior is one the best around, definately stands out.

I have a Touareg and im very happy with it so far. Some little things here and there that you just think to your self and say "well thats dumb" Like the rear seats, folding them down for the first time took me like ten minutes. Or the cupholder for a one liter bottle in the arm rest, just stupid. And the keyless entry has to meet a certain parameter in order for it to work, i haven't figured it out as of yet and when the dealer shows me how to do it, it works just fine, but when i try at home it wont work. And besides an annoying squeal from the brakes that the dealer says should go away and hasn't the car has had no mechanical problems, minor nor major, as of yet. And the auto wipers are the stupidest things in the world. They go off randomly or just dont work when they should, but i can live w/o it. And the trans in that thing is retarded. When you come to a stop the car stays in 2nd, then it randomly decides to shift into first when your at a complete stop and it feels like someone hit you, i always turn around with a "wtf" look on my face. The fit and finish is perfect minus a little gap between the aluminum trim around the ignition. And something i found ingenious about it, the glove box has an extra compartment for the owners manual so my glove box is always empty. As for the Cayenne, i love the car but i would only want the turbo but thats damn expensive. The H3 is the biggest piece of shit ever, if you buy one your an idiot and i like the Volvo a lot but its kinda girly....o and one more thing, my dealers free car washes consist of a bucket of water and a Mexican guy throwing the water on the car and giving it back to you wet and they are also incapable of programing a 3rd key, something that was supposed to take 40 minutes took three hours and they had to order the key again so i have to wait ten more days, and they said sorry here's a free oil change....

I rented one (Cayenne S), I was blown away at how fast it was. Not sure on the quality, but the time I had with it, I enjoyed driving it.

my mom purchased one 2 months ago. i like it. just a few small quirks which made us take it back to the dealer for quick adjustments. overall, i like it. only downside is the fuel mileage...that thing is super thirsty!!

The Cayenne is FUGLY! ! !
The H3 is crap.
I'd go for the Touared.
Also tell her to check out the Lexus RX 330. it's not huge, and very comfortable.

I told her to check out the RX but she doesn't like it; said there are too many of 'em. I agree with everyone on the H3, I don't like it. My other friend drives the H2 and it's just as bad.

It might be some time (probably next year) before she buys this car but it seems like she already decided to go with white Cayenne Turbo.

unless you're getting the turbo, the touareg > cayenne in exterior looks, interior and price.

The Touareg V10 TDI looks pretty nice, and with a evotech chip they can get up to 370HP and 630lbs-ft of torque and still get pretty decent gas mileage for an SUV.

I've driven both. The Cayenne S feels like it kick the shit out the FX45. I was really let down by the FX which I had always loved til I drove one.

The tranny on the Cayenne > FX45 Tranny too.

its a very nice car for a lady. not really manly enough for me. If she has the $ for the payment and gas I say its a solid choice.

the FX has a lot of blind spots and a tiny trunk.
the H3 is very heavy and has a 5-cylinder engine which is waaay under powered.
the RX is too numb feeling.
