Pops getting new car. 15-18k to spend, go!

If you had 15-20k to spend on a used car, what would you get?

Requirements: Leather, tech options (nav, bluetooth, etc) minimum 30mpg highway, preferably 87 octane recommended, 4 drs, no AWD as it will bring down mpg which he's a stickler for.

I wish he would get a 3g TL, but for whatever reason he's not a fan.

Just convince him to get a 3G TL Type S. You are 27, you can do it.

That sounds so exciting. Tell him to buy a used Prius

A loaded 8th gen Accord sounds right for him. Heck, even a loaded 7th gen.

+1 on Avalon. My fiancee's 06 has been perfect. and we have seen 33mpg on long highway drives.

It has about 65k and the only thing that needs to be addressed is brake noise.

I was going to say he is a "cars are for point A to B only appliance" type guy, so maybe a newer Accord or Camry?

Thanks for the input everyone. I will pass on the suggestions. Surprised no one has mentioned the 2g tsx

I have also finally converted him to give an 07-08 3g tl a look. For the 15-18k they're going for, you just cant beat it across the board in my book, but I know i'm biased.

I had a 1G. It requires premium gasoline, and is pretty underpowered.

And, really, just look at Acura.

Sonata, Camry, Fusion, Accord, and Jetta/Passat are better options.

You won't find too much Acura love around here.
They've gone off the rails.

Agreed which is why I suggested a 3rd gen.

The interior of fusion, sonata, and camry leave a lot of be desired IMO. All look quite cheap to me; (nav on fusion looks SNES esque).
2012 Camry XLE interior also screams "blah".

Moving on

Since this car is for your dad, let him decide. He will be the one driving it. Time to take him to check out different vehicles.
