Does anyone know if the law enforcement in So Cal uses pop detection? i'm thinking about getting the v1 detector and wanted to know if i needed the pop protection or not. i have read that only k and ka is used but i have also read about people getting caught by the POP.

 

legally can't get a ticket for pop, but a cop can pop you then get a full laser contact...then ur screwed. i have a escort 8500x50 and i've gotten poped maybe 5 times in total that i had it and lasered twice.

Yes, as far as I've read. When I looked on the website of the company that manufactured POP it said something like "currently not admissible as evidence of speeding in a court of law," so in other words, they would need to get you on radar/laser after they estimated your speed with POP.

 

i have POP disabled on my 8500 x50. it gave me more false alarms than anything else.
