Tie between the RL and M, with the GS being a close 3rd and an honorable mention to the Jag. (Props to the GS for having a cassette deck...unlike some of the whippersnappers here on Azine, I still have tons of cassettes in my possession.)

I'm not feeling the STS much but I have the feeling that it would look a ton better with a carbon fiber (or black marble)/black interior.

I totally dont feel the Audi and MB interior. (The prior gen MB E had a nicer dash layout.)

The MKS looks flatout terrible but then again, Lincoln is good that way.

The Saab 9-5 looks to have borrowed its console layout from the MKIII Supra...which worked ok in the late 80s but looks just a little dated now.

yuck to Lincoln, Lexus, and BMW.

i hate the new BMW interiors, its a giant block of wood horizontal across the whole car. not attractive IMO. I do think they have the best steering wheels tho...

i like Saab, Audi, Acura

best, i'd say: Audi.

FWIW
It competes in the consumer market with high-performance, luxury sedans such as the BMW M5, the Jaguar XFR, and the Mercedes E63 AMG.

^ I disagree with Wikipedia on that. If that's the case, why not throw in the IS-F, M3, S4, and C63 AMG into this poll...?

The CTS-V has great power...but, it's still a suped up CTS, which is the base model. The base model is up against entry-level luxury vehicles...not mid-range.

The Cadillac CTS is a mid-size luxury sports sedan and executive car manufactured by the Cadillac marque of General Motors.
i thought the CTS was an entry level car like the 3 series and C class too until others on this board pointed out that it's not the case. the CTS may be cadillac's base model, but it isn't a small/compact/entry level lux.

obviously the V shouldn't be in this poll as the regular CTS would represent cadillac. just like the 5 instead of the M5.

but

i'm just saying.

I've been saying that about this gen GS from the get go. the whole top portion of the layout is plastic.

I think the CTS is compared to the 5-series based on size, not on price-point. The CTS is quite a bit bigger than the 3-series.

@ the tape deck in the GS. I clown my friend regularly about this "feature". Surprisingly no one has voted for the BMW, their interiors have improved dramatically over the years.

Anywho my vote goes to the Infiniti M, that cockpit looks like it belongs on a space shuttle, and I'm one of those drivers that loves buttons.

Tomorrow's poll should be about Luxury Sedan Exteriors.

well IMO, the E46's (2000-2006 i believe) interior was amazing, especially the M3 with sport seats and aluminum trim. The new one compared to that, design-wise, is indeed lacking, not easy on the eyes. I'm sure its still extremely comfortable and functionable, but i can only vote on looks as of now...

It was a tough call for me between the M and the RL, in the end I went with the RL though.

I can't decide what I like the best. I like the Jag and the Audi for their simplicity and elegance, yet I like the RL and the M for how complex they look I think the RL has more "flow" to it then the M though. I can honestly say that I hate the GS, the Caddy, Lincoln and BMW interiors. Also is it just me, or has Saab not changed anything in their interior layout since the mid-late 90's? I still love the driver centric cockpit and the overall Saab utilitarianism of it, but it seems slightly dated. Then again if it ain't broken why fix it...

I like the Jag best (actually test drove one a while back), but I do like the simplicity of the Cadillac STS (really!) and the Audi.
I am not enamored of buttons and knobs, and would prefer fewer to more.

Although I voted for the RL (the new Infiniti M was a close second), I personally think my own 3rd generation TL with Nav has the best interior design of them all.

While I personally agree with that statement 100%, my hunch is that most of the shoppers for the cars mentioned will not xshop the Genesis.....not that this is a xshopping thread per se.

Strictly looks?
For me it's between the 5 series, RL, and M.

Ergonomically and usability, I've heard Audi is

If the new TL or ZDX were on the list, it would've been an easier choice

interior-wise, 4G > 3G. Umber only increases that gap. hell, I prefer it over the RL's interior.

I was stuck between the M and the RL, but I ended up choosing the M.

And I agree with 4G TL > RL

the volvo jag and saab look the best.

Jag wins though overall. The volvo looks like some modern art piece imo

stylistically I agree, but quality wise, the 3G is superior to the 4G.

too much faux metal (center console trim, door handle, and details on the vents, for example) vs the 3G, which actually uses real aluminum trim.

Funny, my natural inclination would have been to say Audi had the best one, but in this group of pictures they don't.

I like the E Class. Elegant, functional, and the right amount of wood vs. leather and plastic bits.

The Saab is really executed well, from the drivers perspective.

And the Caddy looks much better if done under CTS-V guise.

Lastly, the Volvo is starting to grow on me. But the person effigy for the HVAC, while effective, looks stupid.

I personally prefer the center console location but, I guess it would conflict with the center cupholder location.

I haven't tried the navigation in the 4G TL but initially I didn't like the idea of controlling everything through that big knob before I tried the navi in a 2G MDX. I actually prefer that to touchscreens now. It's higher in your line of sight which makes it easy to glance at while you're driving, and the low knob position makes it more ergonomic to control, since you'll be using it more than any of those other buttons like the HVAC which is usually a press and forget. Plus there's no dirty smudges on the screen. It is pretty distracting how it just juts out though.

The thing that has the most pull for me is that meaty steering wheel. Haven't sat in one to try it out, but aside from the seats, steering wheel, shifter, buttons and switches, I'm going to spend 1,000x more time looking at the interior rather than touching it, so the layout and design holds more appeal to me than the materials do. First time I sat in an LS460L, I was amazed at all the gadgets it had and the materials. 3rd or 4th time around, I just sat in it and paid no mind to the materials at all

The 3G has a great interior. I just spend more time driving than rubbing things in my car, I guess.

didn't think i would have liked acura's new navis and knobs.

but after trying it out in 2g TSX and 4g TLs in loaners, they're great and more practical than i thought.

The E60's interior is/was heading into the right direction. BMW just perfected it with the F10.
