Please help - Desperate - REWARD

I just drove home tonight in my 2004 TSX. About a mile from my destination my nav turned off, my radio turned off, and my clock turned off. But, MOST IMPORTANT, I can't put my can in reverse or park. No fuses are blown that I can tell.

WHAT ELSE CAN THIS BE??? Please help...

Reward to the first person who helps me fix this...
Either:
$10 or
1 of several 2004 Tsx stock interior parts for ebony interior.

Thanks

The first item sounds like a blown relay. The second is bewildering. What happens when you try to put the car in park? Are you just unable to remove the key from the igniton or are you having trouble shifting into park or reverse? You may want to pm JensH1963, but for all I know he may be tired of giving out tech tips for free - especially to unappreciative AZine members.

I have an AT and when I try to put the car in park or reverse I simply can't. It is an if the transmission is stuck. I can remove the key from the ignition, and I can start it again in neutral, but still can not shift.

Side Note: I drained my battery two days ago when I left the dome lights on. Since then I have started and driven the car several times without a problem.

Believe me, if there is someone who can help I will be appreciative.

Jens is in Germany so he may be awake right now. The guy was an Acura Tech at Park Avenue Acura so he probably knows the car better than anyone. Did you try pm-ing him?

Why don't you just have it towed to a dealer?

Does your engine still start and run? If so these are possibles. Fusable link. Major circuit breaker.

Keep us posted.

I thought I WAS in the TSX forum for a minute

We can't move from offtopic to the model specific forums, so off we go to cartalk...

edit: Probably should repost the question in the TSX forum where the TSX members hang out:

Are your brake lights working?

If not, then there must be a sensor at the brake pedal that is not telling the transmission the brakes are pressed as well as to turn on the brake lights.

As for the other problem, I'm just as lost as you.

Red face

I was hoping the car would 'sleep it off' but trying again this morning resulted in more of the same.

A few more notes on what does and doesn't work. Brake lights work. All electrical devices work except center console (radio, clock, display for temp, 12 V outlets) although seat heaters still work.

Car starts fine (in neutral) ... but I did notice the "anti theft" light on the 'tuning' knob of the radio was blinking even with the car started.

If I can't figure it out soon, then I am definitely going dealer style today.

Thanks to all. I will let you know what happens

How about you disconnect your battery for 10-15 minutes and hook it back up, maybe something just needed a hard reset...

It's one of the simpler things you can try...

Tow it to the dealer. I'm not trying to be a smartass but if you continue to screw around with it and wait to bring it to the dealer, you might be causing more harm than good. They will be able to fix it. Tell them its an emergency and the car needs to be looked at immediately. Good luck!

Yeah, seems like the most logical thing to do at this point...

The service dept. can't look at my car until tomorrow. So, until then I have a day to try to figure it out myself.

If that lightning question is serious... no, no lightning.

However, I was driving in the first rain since I have owned the car (2 months)

While it shouldn't have, I suppose it is possible you some how got water into the electronics. From what it sounds like, you are having a major electronics problem. Check under the hood and see if any animals chewed up any of the wiring harnesses.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but this sounds like a warranty issue that Acura should resolve.

Why all the fuss???

Try disconnectig the battery for a minute, if a relay is stuck or something like that it will reset it and possibly solve the problem. Otherwise I have no clue about an easy fix

... and my alarm will not go on. Not sure if this is because the car is not in park, but doors lock, unlock.

I checked all of the fuses last night (actually around 1:00am this morning) and all of them looked OK. But, since I have nothing else to do I decided to check them again. Turns out my ACC fuse (7.5 amp, top row, second from right on the fuse box by the driver's foot) was blown. Replaced it and everything came back on!!! And I can put my car in reverse, park, etc.

But now it is asking me for a pin when I turn on the car. Where do I get this?

Thanks to all.

The pin should be a code that was given to you when you bought the car. It's an antitheft feature Acura built into the vehicle. Check your owners manual. I'm still surprised that this would have affected your transmission. It sounds like Acura outsourced their circuit design to Fiat.

Wow, its amazingly scary that one fuse can do all that damage.

I found the numberS I needed to get everything working on a card in my owners manual case. I needed one number for the nav system to come on and one for the stereo. Thank goodness it is all over.

I hope someone else with the same problem will come across this post some day and will have an easier (less stressful) time dealing with it.

Thanks to ALL

But what would make that fuse blow so early? I would still have it checked out.
