Red face PimpCL23's Miata

I dont care what you think or say... i love miatas and always have since they first came out. Maybe I just saw potential... or maybe i was gay at the time... who knows... i certainly cant remember.

I was looking for a few different types of automobiles before I decided to purchase this car. It ranged from pickup trucks to SUVs to Luxury cars. When i bought it, it needed some work. Dings, dents, soft top needed replacing and the engine needed a little work. Before I could get the engine work done completely.. my brother needed to borrow the car because his car was in the shop. so... i let him. after a week... he brought the car back but the engine was on its last leg. Overheating and loss of compression. Instead of crying about it, I saw this as an opportunity to finally get the car done properly. Had the block bored out (was a 1.6, now its close to a 2.0) and engine rebuilt with new parts from the ground up. I chose not to swap the engine because, well... it wouldnt be a true miata anymore. Had the body worked on and repainted, new suspension and new soft top with a glass rear window this time.

here it is now

That's a really clean example. Looks like it's right off the factory line.

Interesting tactic to come out swinging against the haters though.

nice!

my friends and i recently picked up a miata to tinker around with, though ours isn't nearly as clean as yours and is mostly stock except for a hard dog roll bar we put in over winter vacation.

what kind of suspension setup do you have?

lmao! thanks!!

Miata owners get a lot of shit for having this car because its categorized as a woman's sports car... like a porsche boxter. One of my coworkers asked if it came with a matching purse. i gotta admit that made me crack up. But now that the car isnt stock, i guess i removed the "woman" element of it.

I really like what you've done with it. Photos look good to me, though I'm anything but a photographer.
