A 03 cobra setup would be awesome for you.
But since your doing a whole motor swap do a built 351 supercharged combo.

You know all the s351 saleens started off as v6's.

This would work nicely for you.


Those were the fastests saleen's that steve EVER built.

The only problem with that is, the law states you can't put an engine in a car that factory doesn't offer, or id have to pass every cali smog test ever, which is not easy with a 351 Windsor Supercharged. The 03 engine suits well, I can make it 500 rwhp easy, and with my solid rear end i'll be in the 10's 11's.

I'm not familiar with that law.

From my knowledge the engine only has to be made the year of your car or newer. (i.e. a '99 engine can go into a '98 car but a '98 engine can't go into a '99 car ) Check with your local DMV as well as enthusiast shops in the area.

oh yeah, also... also, enthusiasts have been swapping out motors for decades that weren't available from factory. There are some crate motors that will pass Cali Smog tests.

^ I've heard that as well, but with the other thing is the engine has to have been offered as an option originally from the manufacturer. Although I'm sure that varries from state to state.

well I know that cali and texas don't require that the engine came as an option. as for other states, you're on your own.

why? cobra motor is smog legal and so are quite a few other crate motors for mustangs.

I know, thats why im opt to get the 03 Cobra Engine, or Mach 1 crate engine. Easy and no hassle.
