On a 45 degree day the blower makes noticably more power, in both cars. I never said I beat one, but I wasn't falling back as far as he would have liked me to. He was definitely bone stock too. Stock exhaust, etc. Those cars are pretty quiet until you swap the exhaust or add a new pulley on the blower. It was a silver convertable.
Yeah, and LS1 Camaro's were rated at 305hp, so they SHOULD put down ~270rwhp. Problem is that they dyno consistently at 300+rwhp. The 03/04 Cobra's are underrated, as is the Mach 1 & new 05 Mustang GT. Ever since the 99 Cobra debacle Ford has been conservative with hp claims.
And dont just look at the hp number, thats very decieving. The Cobra makes 100+wtq more than you, which would show itself much more if you raced from a stop.
Here steve, read these if you dont believe me:

I also think technically dinan requires you to have a certain amount of their parts before youc an label it a dinan

true but Dinan badges can be found on ebay
So if dinan thinks you are worthy of their badge then they will give it to you. I think since he had steve sign his car then that gives his car enough credit as if it was a dinan.
If that CL-P owner got a letter from acura saying it was a type-s, then by all means who are we to deny that.

Pit Stop?
On this same note, if someone takes a Plymouth Cuda, and drops in a 426 Hemi........do we recognize it as a Hemi Cuda, therefore the resale value skyrockets?

Yeah it works on a point system, I was like 5 points shy give or take (was missing one add on from what I remember)......but my salesman got me the badge.
What a sport after spending $5k+.

I would like to hear this story as well. It's not everyday a cl runs with an 03/04 cobra. Can you give us the whole story Steve? Was it at the track, the street what happened?

It was on the street. 3 lane road. I pulled in behind him and we were casually weaving through traffic waiting for an open gap in traffic. Finally we did and he punched it and so did I. He got the jump on me (obviously, he was infront of me) and he pulled about 4 car lengths before I could react and get on it. After I was WOT he didn't pull anymore at all until he shut it down at 100 MPH. Then we got caught in more traffic. I got infront of him and we found open lanes again and I jumped on it. He stayed 2 cars back and didn't pull an inch. After I let off at 95 MPH or so he pulled up next to me and gave me the and was very impressed. A minute or two later we had open traffic and we were still side by side. Three honks and we were off. Neither of us got the jump but he slightly pulled on me. We started at 50 MPH dead even and by 80 MPH his door was at my bumper. At 110 when we shut it down my front bumper was at his rear bumper. I was pretty impressed with the CL that day It loves temps 50 degrees or lower.

I am definitely capable of better than 13.44. That run was on all season tires with 40k miles on them.
More track times this Friday on new tires. I made one pass so far with them and my 60' dropped nearly 1 tenth, but I smacked the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift so I only ran 13.5 @ 106.

Mr.Steve good job. I could see how you would keep with an 03 on the freeway. It had to have been bone stock, because with a change of an intake, pulley, and exhaust and your pusing 450+rwhp. What MPH did you guys start at in each race? Conditions? What are your mods?

The runs started around 50 MPH which is perfect for my car.
My mods are listed in my signature. I put down 295whp/243wtrq in 75 degree weather.
In 75 degree weather the car ran 13.5 @ 106.
In 45 degree weather the car ran 13.4 @ 108.
The car pulls significantly harder once the temp falls below 50 degrees.
I had 40k miles on my tires and thus launching was impossible so I left the line as a street start, i.e. didn't go WOT until about 5 MPH. My 60' times were worse with the S/C than without.
I have new tires now and they dropped my 60' by 1 tenth with a soft launch as well. I didn't wanna push it too hard on their first run. I missed the shift from 1 -> 2 (gate shifting) and it bounced of the limiter. I ran 13.5 @ 106 for my one and only run that night. I should be able to get it moving harder off the line this Friday night.

where is the approval because he gave you his autograph and a plate with your vin number on it?? And what makes it a saleen is the fact that it comes FROM steve saleen's factory not from ford slick

unless it was built by his factory its not a saleen. you can't change that because he signed, you still bought it from a ford dealership and still paid to have the kit and the rims put on

I'll probably see 340 at the wheels at 8.5 psi.
