Geez people somebody just wanted to show us his car and you guys are being haters. Hey its a V6 so what its still a nice car and what he was able to do with it is cool.
He just needs to post some numbers and we'll see how good or bad the car is geez. JMHO.

He asked for feedback so people gave it to him. The car would be nice if he wasn't trying to be a poser by saying it is an original Saleen 'Stang. He hasn't posted numbers nor has he posted pics of the supercharger.

CF hood on a 'Stang is no matter what is under the hood.

Why are you guys busting this kid's balls? The car looks good (except for that hood), whether its your taste or not........it was well done.

Not a ghetto hack job, he obviously put some $ into the car.

Yeah its a V6, but its not stock.....a poser would have just left the engine alone.

I for one give him credit, he's 19........anyone ever price out a V8 Mustang at that age? If you don't go under your parents policy its fucking expensive.

well done is in the eyes of the beholder. So is taste. He shouldn't care what we think anyways. But if you post something, expect some reactions.

Let me rephrase that, it was well done in that its not a shitty hack job. As I stated, whether its your taste or not.....the car was well done. Of course if you are not into the Saleen look period, then obviously you're not going to think the car was well done.

For me, put a painted hood on the car and it would look fine imho.

This is aside from the whole engine debate.

Exactly. Unless the plaque he has indicates a Saleen VIN and not a Ford VIN, the car is not a Saleen as he implied.

Well, that is a valid argument but in the end......its a kid and his car (innocent fun).

If Steve Saleen wasn't insulted by it (went out of his way to sign the dash), no reason why any of us should be.

Again, if the car didn't have a modded engine I would not have been quite as complimentary.

Would I have gone the same route he did? No.....but that's what makes us all different.

I give the kid credit.. It's not a stock v6, it's supercharged. It's a well done kit, and overall looks pretty good. It may not be everyone's taste but it's a quality job nonetheless.

If he was driving around with a stock V6 with that body kit, then it's a different story, but overall nice job. It's not for everyone but it's definitely not rice.

Lastly, even though it's a V6 it would most likely beat most stock CL's. Not saying it's a beast, but I'm sure the performance isn't bad at all.

you honeslty think that 6 cylinder gained 2 whole seconds in the quarter mile just by adding a supercharger and some bolt ons? plus nobody knows how much power he really has. He's sayin he's got 250@ the wheels with no dyno sheet. Fine even if he does, you have to remember the power curve on those 6 cylinders is garbage, is the kit fiberglass or urethane, thats added weight, the big wheels...if he's a good driver he's running a mid-low 14

Of course Steve owuldn't be insulted, he made money on it still didn't he. And having Steve sign it isn't a big deal, I know of PLENTY of GT350/500 replicas that Carol Shelby has signed.

All your points still go back to the fact, he posted it, he should expect some feedback.

it looks good, but i don't like the middle exhaust.

what happens when you roll up beside a V8 Saleen and he wants to go?

I wouldn't believe what anyone says on the boards unless they had proof. I have shown you guys nothing but that. Here is the dyno. I only have video's of the car with the s/c running, no pictures of it at the time.

This dyno was taken before I changed headers which would have given me at least 10tq.

I post'd here because I wanted feedback, good or bad. I am always looking to upgrade, and if anyone has some suggestions I will take it. As for the CF hood that everyone says its rice --> The only reason I changed it beacause it weighs less than 20lbs, as opposed to my 57lb stocker. I don't know if most of you know but the weight displacemtn on the mustang is like 60/40 or 70/30 which is really bad, and Im trying to even it out. I already have a scheme in mind for it (picture'd below)

If I had one thing to change on the car it would be the engine size, but insurance right now is holding me back. LIKE I STATED BEFORE $450 a month is no joke. But anyways, all in dew time. If I had a 400rwhp monster right now, I think I would end up dead (with the stangs poor handling), so mabye its for the best that I stuck with the slow 6'er. I never said anything about it being so incredibly fast, nor did I say I would take all of you guys, just wanted to get some incite

Thanks again

I have never lied about my engine size. Before I had the S/C I would always say, all show no go. Now that I have the S/C I just tell them its a six, they give me props, and we go at it. I beat a stock S281 (which is slower than a 99-01 cobra), they are only rated at 285 hp. Its mostly a show car though, and I really don't need to lie, I get props regardless.

I am so suprised because everytime I race an import car, regardless of win or lose, they always give me a . If its a stang, they ALWAYS, nod or give me the ?

besides the lack of it being a real saleen, i think its a very decent looking car. That big man in the red shirt seems to think so too.

im impressed you made me eat my words on the dyno haha. still instead of spending 3.4k on a charger and the intake mods and all that shit you could've dropped the 8 in and still kept the same insurance. Its that 6 cylinder thing that really upsets me because of the saleen kit

Honestly some of you guys are just hating. I give this kid props because he hasn't bullshitted and has shut many of you up by posting proof. I think some of you are simply mad because its a stang...and then because its a 6-banger! Lest we forget that most of us have a six-banger also!

Anyway, nice job with building a car you are happy with and for not being a bullshitter. Keep it up!

Wise up The Cobra runs 12.9-13.4 with a 60' that is at least 2 tenths less than mine (2.11) and usually traps right around 107-109.

Last time I checked 03/04 Cobra's were making 365rwhp (420 crank) bone stock, and with $500 towards a CAI & exhaust they are over 400rwhp. Last I knew you were at 295whp/243wtq, which is definitely impressive, but still not close to 03 Cobra levels.

If you beat or tied one, you beat a bad driver, not the car.

Even stock convertibles run 110+mph, so you wont pull on them from a roll either.

STNG2NV, I give you props for at least doing a quality job with the body kit and exterior pieces. I cant hate on someone who is just working within a budget and trying to have a fast/cool car. I say if you went though the trouble of getting him to sign the car and get the plaques etc, then the graphics are ok IMO.

The '03 Cobra makes 390 crank horsepower, not 420. They should make around 320 at the wheels. I'm not that far off from that number. Plus my dyno was done when it was still 75-80 degrees regularly. On a 45 degree day the blower makes noticably more power, in both cars. I never said I beat one, but I wasn't falling back as far as he would have liked me to. He was definitely bone stock too. Stock exhaust, etc. Those cars are pretty quiet until you swap the exhaust or add a new pulley on the blower. It was a silver convertable.

ok so your saying its not dumb if the CL-P came in a 4 cylinder and then people put the Type S wheels on it and put a Type S badge then supercharged the 4 cylinder to be as fast as the 6?

I'm not partial and never been to stangs, cameros, fbirds or any type of america muscle car. I've always considered them to be unrefined and cheesy. That said, I'd have to say that your white stang is very well done and made me think twice about my prejudice about america muscle cars. I especially liked the rear end design with the center twin pipes. I would really like to see the same car in anthracite body and rims. It currently looks very aggressive, but would look down right mean in anthracite.

The only thing stupid about that is putting a Type S badge on it........this Mustang doesn't have any S281 badges on it that I can see anyway.

Big deal, he's got a fair amount of Saleen parts on it, so it doesn't have a V8.....whatever. He's not passing it off as a specific model, so I see no problem with it.

I put a Dinan badge on my Mcoupe back in the day.....had a bunch of Dinan mods, but nothing crazy outrageous.

There is a difference between Dinan and Saleen though. Dinan is a tuner, Saleen is a manufacturer which asigns their unique vehicles their own VIN number, not a Ford VIN.

Yes, I am aware of that.......anyway

So he has some Saleen stickers on the car, not a big deal since it wouldn't fool all the experts on this board so its a moot point.
