Apparently, in late 2006, some Chinese corporation bought MG Rover and started to build various cars and working on development of others at this plant.
From what I found by searching briefly, the Chinese corporation, Nanjing, has some sort of dispute over the long-term lease of the facility and ceased operations for a period of time. Hence the pictures.
