Get some kind of alarm/kill switch. Those body styles are very popular for being stolen. why, but I have seen cars without rust in great condition go for a fortune on e-bay

haha PIMP!!

i used to have a 88 oldsmobile cutlass that i buoght for 400$

after a week it suddenly wouldnt start, so i basically left it in this remote parking lot and used it for hotbox sessions whenever we needed a place to smoke weed

it was pretty pimp tho, had ashtrays on the back of the seats, comfy seats, hauled pretty good for the 10 miles i got to drive it

I think 270hp for about $1500 is pretty common.. Great upgrade and great bang for the buck for some of those old 70's smog equipped (low hp) GM products.

Of course a 383 stroker would be cool too (but alot more $$)....

I thought those things have Oldsomobile V8's which don't have lots of mods available for them.

Anyway it's a great car for the price and will probably be worth more than the Cl in 10 years.

Hmm.. your right. It appears that GM kept the oldsmobubble motor in until 1990. I had thought GM made the switch to corporate motors by then (every thing used the same motors - i.e. a Camaro and transam had the some corporate motor).

Found this with a quick google search...

Have you gotten it running yet?? After 9 years, it probably needs a lot of stuff done to it. (fluids changed, etc. etc.).

You need to hit the junk yard to find a grille for it tho'

I had an 87 442 growing up. Awesome car. The thing was a tank and never had any major mechanical issues. It was pretty fast for it's day, and even though it only has 170hp, it has a nice amount of torque down low and would easily perform nice burnouts.

Good luck with it! I miss my old 442.
