Photoshop Wheel Pics: Stock, Gunmetal, or Black?

As much as I would like aftermarket wheels, I can't see spending $2000+ on them. So if I were to do anything, I would have the stockies painted.

What do you like better? I'm leaning toward leaving them stock as it looks more clean but the gunmetal looks quite good. Keep in mind I have 35% tint all the way around and headlights/taillights are cutout and tinted (not shown in the pics).

#1 Stock

#2 Gunmetal

#3 Black

And current pics of the headlights/taillights to see how well it may flow.

^LOL How did I know you'd be on the first page of this thread? Man, I really have my heart set on different wheels.

Tell ya what, give me $2000 for my stockies and they're yours.

See, I like the gunmetal in the pic. Not sure I want to go too dark because I like to see the wheels spin and it doesnt look as "dirty".

I agree that you can save up some money and get HRE , but the gunmetal works very well.

I have the money. Like I said, I just can't see myself paying that kind of money on wheels. Heck, the ones I want are over $3000 w/ tires.

Although the even swap for Trident Layers sounds like a decent deal, I'm going to pass since you LOVE your OEM wheels so much.

I like the gunmetal, but I agree you probably don't want to go too dark or they'll look dirty. I'd try for more of a hyper grey with some kind of metallic flake in it to keep them shiny.

Do not paint them. Have them powdercoated. I had a set of Accord wheels powdercoated for about $100 a wheel.

LOL sorry, I do actually like them rather than the OEM 19's too.
Will definately be the color posted or a bit lighter.

I'm guessing no more than $1000 and that's on the high side (I think). Ha

They will definately be powdercoated rather than paint.

I love the hyper grey on my Konigs. In normal light they appear gunmetal, but in direct sunlight they look like a very bright silver.

Looks good. Ya definately want a more lighter gunmetal. Something not as dark as the TLS wheels but darker than mine (If I decide to do this).

When I first bought my Volk TE's, I was scared to do it but after I pull the trigger, I am glad I did it.

Just do it.

P.S. You have the money to buy the wheels that you want, why waste your money to powder coat your OEM wheels? Don't go cheap way out on wheels.

I like the stocks very much.
I love the 2 pair of aftermarkets I'm interested in.

Difference in probably $2000. With that I can buy tons of other things even non car related. Or that's a vacation! haha

If you think like that then you will never able to buy anything for your car. lol. man, I feel like I am your buddy trying to convince you to get some volks.

If you REALLY don't want to spend that $3000 on wheels, then just keep your wheel stock and use that money on something else.

Not true. I have plenty of things done to my car and they ALL add up to $3000. I just can't get the left side of my brain to pull the trigger on one thing for $3000. LOL

you are surprised because it's cheap or too expensive?

If you think that's cheap then damn you guys are paying way too much for powdercoat.

Here's a link to my progress thread.
https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/new-09-blue-slate-g37x-coupe-frequent-updates-767827/

So far:
-Tint
-Springs
-Headlight/Taillight Cutouts
-Remote Start/Alarm
-Audio System (JL W7 + Amp, bass knob)
-Midnight Grille from Factory
-AutoX Spoiler

These are the 2 wheels I am thinking of:

Volk GT30's (Basically made perfect for the G). Color is "Formula Silver"
http://onfinite.com/libraries/1348629/f3c.jpg

Brand new Vossen CV2's

Oh believe me, I know. I've been drooling over the GT30's since I got my G. Then the Vossen CV2's just came out and teased me again.

Damnit, if I'm going to spend $3000, I'm almost in S/C territory. haha

Okay, looks like you have decent amount of mods there. let me guess? you are going for all show right now, right? I see no actual bolt-on mods yet. Got any plan for that?

I am also huge fan of GT30 but some reason, it looks odd on G body.

If I were to pick out of those two, I will definitely go with second sets over GT30. What are you looking for? deep dish wheels or not? two completely different styles there.

I am keep on saying same thing over and over, but I think you should pull the trigger. Wheels gives totally different look to it. at least that's how it was with my case.

The car has 330hp and AWD. It is plenty for me but I am always open to more HP. Just did the tastefull mods first. Will consider some minor bolt ons in the future but nothing serious.

GT30's look odd on the G? You're the first person I heard that from. It's the most popular wheel amongst the G community. I think it fits the body perfectly.

They are both different style rims but I like em both and dont have a preference as long as I like them.

No doubt it will compliment the car with aftermarket wheels but something is saying to be wise and keep the nice looking stockies I have and put the $3k to something else. I blame my mom's side (saves every penny) for this way of thinking.

I guess I could be the first and last one to say that GT30 doesn't look that good on G.

From what you been telling me, I think you already decide not go with aftermarket wheel route. It's your money and you should use it however you want it.

Good luck!

Stock. But if you have your mind set on painting/powdercoating them, go with gunmetal.
