I've always known what they are but I had never seen one in the flesh. Ford Maverick.

OK, obviously we've run out of both desirable and exotic cars when mid-70's Mavericks start showing up in the thread, especially with cheap wheel covers.
I say that with a smile and warm regard, since I learned to drive and wrench on my dad's 302 V8 '74 Maverick. Still not sure they're desirable to many people, though.
The Ford Maverick came with a "Grabber" package; the Mercury Comet had the "GT" option. They were not fast cars even in the optional 302 V8 ("5.0 liter") guise due to the new power-sapping smog systems, a dinky 2-barrel carb and 3-speed auto trans.

True. I know they aren't very desirable but I don't think it's "uncool" enough to put it in the WTFCOTD thread

My college roommate had one and I was with him once when we spun out in the middle of a busy intersection at night in the rain. He wasn't even trying and we did a 180 in a second and suddenly were facing 3 lanes of oncoming traffic.

Ugggh, my mom had two Mavericks in the 70s and early 80s. Complete junk.

I guess you'd vote to put the Maverick into the WTF-Car thread instead of this one?

When I was a kid making plastic car models I took a pro street chassis and dropped a baby blue Ford Maverick body on it. It looked bad ass!
So I finally saw my first exotic (and what an exotic it was!) on the road in the Nashville area this past Sunday. Crusing through Brentwood a Ferrari 575 pulled up at the light next to us. Of course my phone was off because we were coming home from chuch so I couldn't turn it on fast enough to snap a photo.

So, how much fun are the techs. having with that?
Heard changing just the clutch in that car is a huge process of separating the rear end.

Don't be a pussy rossv1
I would rather have a F1-inspired V12 sitting behind my head than power windows that add weight.
