Post Part of me..

Wants to go back to a 4 banger like the RSX S. I had a GSR before my CLS and the GSR was the funnest car I ever owned. Anybody here ever think about going back to a non turbo 4 banger???

Everytime I go to the gas station

Seriously, I've thought about it, but I'm too cheap to ditch the CLS yet. It's paid for, gets decent mileage (for what it is), and only has 36K miles.

In another couple of years, I might be ready for a 4 banger, but I haven't had one of those since the mid 90's...

Maybe in a couple of years I'll get a commuter car, and have a dedicated summer only sunday driver

I keep reverting back to saving some money, buying a 98 hatch and putting together a motor for it w/ all the various shit I have laying around.

I used to have an 03 CL-S (NA 3.2L V6) and now I've got an 04 TSX (NA 2.4L i4). Two weeks ago I filled up with the gas light on and almost on Empty. It cost me $32 to fill up! That was after a week of getting 28.8 MPG per the trip computer - mixed about 3:1 hwy/city.
If I still had the CL-S I'm sure I would be hurting even more since my average with it was 19 MPG taking the same routes. Of course, the CL-S's engine is intoxicating and begs to be WOT'ed which I'm sure didn't help.

i freakin LOVED my RSX type-S back when i had it!! wow.. i miss it everytime i see one on the road. i wish i can get it back but i got too used to the V6 and the luxuries of the TL..

it woud be great to have the rsx-s as a second car so i can still have fun taking it around corners and just going for fun drives. a 4banger, small manual cars are definitly fun cars! the better gas mileage is also always a plus!

I've been spoiled by a V6! Even if it's only 225hp, it sure beats the hell out of the 1988 Camry I-4 that my mom uses as a beater, and I practice on =(

I like powerful 4 bangers (ala the TSX) for the fuel economy but still enough to get you around with relative fun. IMO automatic + 4cyl = BORING. Manual only for anything less than a 6 cyl car.

I miss my S14 240sx all the time
I remember fish tailing it around corners and the accidental drift I did when coming out of my friends complex (I think my TL would have flipped)
I sold it for 2 grand...worst mistake of my life! I should have just kept it and tweeked it.

I had a GSR too and to this day, it is still my favorite car that I have ever owned. It wasn't the fastest, but it was a real blast to drive.

Me too. I like the car's looks. Even though it doesn't have a lot of power it can be s/c'd. Besides that Camry 4 cylinder engine is close to being indestructible. I really like the sunroof on that car and being able to install my own double-din stereo without having it look like an aftermarket installation.

This is pretty much the reason why I still have my civic. It's nowhere near as fast as my TL, but that fucker can still corner like it's on rails. The day I try that with my TL, I'm in the ditch with a concussion at best. I keep telling myself that I need to unload this car (it's 8 1/2 years old), but I can't seem to do it.

Revisiting my usual comments.
I went from my 01 CLS (H/I/E/Springs) to my 01 Integra GSR (with J-spec 10:6:1 CR B18c3 motor).
Now, don't get me wrong I really like the GSR, but the lack of low end torque KILLS me. I loved stomping the gas in the CLS and being put back in the seat.

I tried putting a full 2.5" Header (with Test-pipe Cat replacement) back system on the GSR with hopes of increasing the power, and well, still didn't do the job for me, I mean it made more power, yes, but not what I was hoping for, just made A LOT OF NOISE. So all the exhaust components are back to stock, and I'm just going to drive it along for a little while longer, then sell it.

Some things I do like about the GSR are:
1-- Manual tranny, great transmission
2-- Cornering ability: I have the Tein SS Coilovers on it, and really make twisty roads a lot of fun. I took it to the Austin meet two weeks ago, and we drove on this 56 curve, 8 mile stretch of road in the hill country. I just stiffened the suspension up, and it handled amazingly. (also upgraded the tires to 205/50/15's Proxes 4's over the stock 195/55/15)
3-- Looks of the front end and side of the car, I have the TypeR front lip and aftermarket HID kit.
4-- Gas mileage. I get about 370 miles and ~ 26 mpg per tank (13.5 gals. I believe)

Dislikes:
1-- No low end torque
2-- Headroom absolutely kills me (I'm 6'2 long torso) with my suspension setup, over certain "ramps" on Louisiana roads, if I don't duck, I will slam my head onto the roof.

Al depends on what you like, but it's hard going from the low end power of the CL.

ive never really driven a 4 cyl. always a 6, and most of them were 4.0L V6s (jeeps)

i had a TSX loaner and couldnt stand it. (when Curry went through 3 trannys in a row on the CL!) the pickup of a 4 cyl disgusts me.
