Parking Sensors....

Anyone have any insight on parking sensors for cars?
I know when i slam my car with the lip, im gonna need some type of device to tell me distance and shit.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what companies and how much these run?
As well as how these work, different types, mounting, and installation

my friend had one on his BMW wagon....they are sick but you need a indash screen for it to work the best, everytime he backs up the screen shows whats behind him

he said it ran him 300 for the sensors but he already had a tv screen, this was in japan BTW so the prices might be cheaper in US

aftermarket or OE?

I really dislike the parking sensors on less expensive cars, the kind that just beep with increased freq. as you get closer to the object. On the other hand, the kind on a Lexus LS/GS with the screen in the dash that displays as soon as you put it in reverse is the nuts! FedEx has a system in their Sprinters which is even better then the Lexus and probably not that expensive. In other words if you have a camera and screen its great, if you just have some annoying beep its not much of a help.

^ thats the first thing that came to mind when i read this post. love the pic of the fender guard and the door reflectors in addition to the curb feelers

if you're talking about the front of the car-since you said lip i would assume so-i would think you would need the beeping kind, neever saw a "forward parking monitor". i've paralle(sp) parked hundreds of times, and have never hit anything, and i do it 10 times a year maybe. just go slow and be carefull.
