Usually when people do the Night Shade treatment the tail light bulbs are replaced with much brighter LED's, best of both worlds....

i did that back in 98 on my Mystique and then in 99 on my Countour SVT, but i used black speaker mesh from radio shack. It looked cool at the time, but smelled like ass when it rained and then dried.
