Painting another color

I was thinking of painting my car black since I need to paint my car. Right now it is Firepepper red. So I was wondering how much of a hassle is this and is it worth painting your car a whole 'nother color.

It's gonna be pricey...They have to pretty much strip all the pieces from the car and repaint everything...

dude I can get you a discount because my SCCA Solo2 car is sponcered by a body shop. they did the CRX. they did a nice job it's red fades to yellow. .
only thing is it's in Columbus Ohio. but he'll do custom graphics paint and sticker type(both types which i got on the CRX). the guy does great work. I'd say depending on what your body looks like. if it only has 1 or 2 small door dings and you want a nice metalic paint job(that's the one where they pour metal flakes in the paint to make it "dance" in the sunlight) it would run you in the 3-4k range and that car will look like it's brand new on the outside. now you can get 500 buck paint jobs but they don't pop dings and usually they overspray and do a shitty job(mising spots and other things).
he's done a integra with the Chromalusion(sp?) the one paint that changes color. it was AMAZING after he got done with it. but if i remember right he said the owner dropped like 10-11 grand on the paint job alone.(i'd say he had 50 grand in that integra)
he bought it new: it was a Type R so 25 grand
he had a TON of bolt ons:so probably 10 grand(exhaust, intake, headers,throttle body,port and polished heads,etc)
he had customized rims: they were made speically for his car( i didn't ask him a lot about this but it they were nice) 5 grand
then he had that paintjob: which was 10-11 grand.
son of a rich doctor. Son of a gun i need sponcered by a doctor not a body shop get a punched out spoon B18C5 motor for that CRX.

To do it right your looking at about 7 grand minimum.
