UHHHH,

the 330 is rated at 225 hp with 214 ft/lbs. of torque at crank

the e36 m3 is rated at 240 hp with 236 ft/lbs. of torque at crank

the e36 m3 weighs 450 lbs. less, so guess which ones accelerates faster?

stock e36 m3 makes the power that the 330 makes at the crank, at the rear wheels when most members dyno it...

not to mention the tranny difference, steering rack, suspension geometry...you dont know what your talking about

pimpcls it had 53000 miles when I got it, now it has about 67000...just need to do a little maintenance on it and will run for a long time...

I don't know what am talking about
No i haven't spent the last 7 years teaching bmw drivers nor driven a bmw ever. I guess i should have said the 330 has more useful torque and therefore nearly equal accerlation.

Have you ever driven a euro version of the car? 286 hp ? that car is faster. All the E36 m3's that were sold in the us is basically a tuned verison of the 328 engine. But then again i have no idea what the hell am taking about, never dealt with bmw's before.

I also currently have both - an '03 Type-S 6 speed and a '98 Estoril Blue Coupe. I'm not looking to get rid of either, especially since there is nothing out there that really makes me want to get out of the M3 (although if Volvo suddenly introduces a 2 dr S60R or follows up on the threat of an R version of the new C50 I'm there).

the e36 is faster than the 330ci. How hard is that to understand?

330 can def still hang with it though but its no M3.

To me, i look at the 330 to be a soften version of the e36 M3. That goes for the ride comfort as well.

yea i already told you, it wouldnt be a even trade unless the m3 had lots of miles on it. And in that case its not worth it.

I say get it if you take some drving classes first.

No offense but having a m3 with no traction control might be dangerous for someone who is young.

Trust me, i know. :o

i can see that, how much more dangerous then an acura cl-s? I mean i been through some serious shit, like getting my acura doing a 180, drifting on 2 consectuive turns, and a whole lot of other shit, i think i only have to worry in the rain, and take it easy at first, i mean im not even totally down with stick yet, i have to learn to do faster shifts and the other shit

dood, the m3 is totally a different car than the CLS. If you got into trouble with the CLS then please dont buy the M3 without traction control You can easily lose control in dry pavement with the M3

Also, how the hell did you get up to 180 in your CLS?!?!?!?

i know what you mean the m3 is rwd and fishtails like a bitch my dad is a little worried too, but ill try to control myself even though i am very wreckless(which is stupid), i treated my car like shit, always flooring, peeling the hell outta my tires, oh and the 180 was an empty parking lot, there was puddles and it was slick, i gunned it w?o traction control on nearly bald stock tires spun the wheel trhe right way, opposite way and back to the right, and hit the gas, it was scary as hell

is there any major reason why a 95 M3 with good mileage would be a bad car

95 m3 are the easiest to mod and make fast cuz of the OB1. Only downside is it has no traction control. So it would be like driving a mustang with that much power in the rear.

If i was to buy a 2nd car, then it would be the 95 m3 for sure.
