Opinion...color choice for a "mod" *Decided - Black with Purple Lettering*
A little over a year ago someone in my car club gave me a set of old caliper covers.
They are a high quality cover made by MGP.
Currently, the covers are red as they came when he bought them.
As many know the color scheme on my car is black/purple.
So...should I keep the covers red for some contrast? or should I paint them purple?
Just not sure if that makes too much purple.
Anyway, theres a poll, have fun

If it were my car, I would just leave it black too until I upgrade it to BBK.

If you're convinced you want purple or red, I would go purple.

If somebody gave you good spoke Dayton's would you jump off a cliff?
That doesn't sound right. Anyway, I vote you sell them and put the money toward something less terrible.

I've thought about selling them. But, I do have 20" wheels. They are leave LOTS of room to see the calipers...and the stock calipers are just boring looking pieces of a metal.
If I sold them I MIGHT get 100 bucks.
And there aint nothing else I can do to my car (or want to do) that is gonna less than several grand at this point

Why not do black calipers with Challenger written in purple? That way there are other purple elements on the car but they are subtle.

Don't see a "get rid of them" option.

Pics of red covers on the car, or are they still off? I voted purple, but that's only because the other choice was worse.

Hi David
I have to be honest here. The following is only my opinion and not meant to infringe upon the tastes of others.
You know I spend a lot of time looking for a specific look for a car. My tastes gravitate towards simplicity. A particular cleanness often lacking on today's cars. In a world of big wheels, loud exhausts, and decals, a clean and uncluttered car always draws my attention. If it's detailed and spotless, it speaks volumes over cars that I find overly done. And there are many that agree with me.
Your car has the right look and stance since Saleen did the work. It looks wonderful. If you add the covers, then make them black. Just plain, semi-gloss, basic black.
Anyway, just my
Bling don't make it sing.

With the caliper covers I didn't want to over do anything...and thats why I'm taking the suggestion of black with purple script from another member...
I feel that the script will add the very minute touch of color with out being over bearing to the rest of the vehicle.

Actually, if I can get a mod to reflect that in the title...a lot of people will be able to save themselves time.
Thanks

Terry...I very much agree with you. While my stripes (and exhaust) are loud...I still find what I've done to be simple and tasteful IMO.
