Old and busted

New hotness

Check out my "JDM" headlights! More like "MDM" (Mexican Domestic Market)

And it only took me 1.5 hours all by myself

If it was a better day I would go out and take some...but as you can see I had the elements to deal with.

Very safe of me

Mmm, that's new. I have yet to see a modified PT GT around here. I'm not a big fan of that car, but yours is pretty clean and nicely done.

Very cool. Those trubos are pretty quick too. Keep up the good work, always nice to have a gal on the boards who enjoys modding her car.

Actually that is a nice looking PT Cruiser. I think I'd rather have that than a hooked up xB. The body kit and rear bumper look especially nice. Does the trubo minivan sport an SRT4 engine? If so it should respond really well to mods.

Oh, & lmao at willdogs pic.

That looks awsome!
I forgot do the Turbo PT cruisers come in AWD?

I think the convertibles look sick as well. That car would look awsome w/ two doors!!

Given a choice I think I'd rather have a PT Cruiser turbo than an SRT4.

If you can get over the fact that "its a PT Cruiser." You can get some fun out of these things. My buddy up north runs 12s with nitrous.

So...couple things:
Same engine as SRT-4 : different intake manifold (form over function) and different exhaust. The engine was actually designed for the PT Cruiser then dropped into the neon frame. Probably why the SRT is being discontinued.

I have Stage I, exhaust, intake and IC pipes. Should be dynoing it soon for the first time

No AWD. I wish they were RWD...that would be so nice.

Two doors? People have been asking for it since 2001. Hopefully it happens:

Her car is really nice on the inside too.

Lauren, once I get my car cleaned up we need to get both the cars up there together.

Actually the 2.4L turbo engine came originally from the Dodge Stratus before the PT Cruiser and SRT-4 came out, which are only sold in Mexico.

BTW, when I rented a PT Cruiser GT with an auto a while back it surprised a lot of people at stoplights thinking they could easily pass me. Some of them had this look on their faces.

Oh yeah and your PT looks really nice, not a fan of the hood though but other than that it looks nice.

Very nicely done modifications to the PT.
All I see done up my way are rims and flame stickers.

looks really good and i usually hate pt cruisers. I'd rock yours though! Did you replace the headlights or refinish them? My girlfriend's stratus is having the same thing happen and the rubbing compount trick didnt work. I've yet to try wetsanding.

I dont want to sound like a pompous asshole, but thats what I thought when I was deciding what car to buy. The more I looked at owner's PTs I couldnt help but think to myself: What the heck are they doing? All they need to do is slam it on wheels with a nice lip kit and be done with it...why are they chroming out random pieces that dont fit an overall theme?

So I bought one and did what I wanted with it. I dont know how mnay times Ive heard that the only PT Cruiser they would ever be caught in is mine.

Makes me feel good even some turds can be polished.

Yes. Theres apparently a polish you can buy that helps as well. I also noticed some companies will drive out to your car and do it for around $40. I saw the ad on a van once so if they have them here in Jax I bet they have similar companies elsewhere.

Mine were too far gone...inside and outside were crappy and I had burnt the housing with the wrong bulbs once. These will be my HID retro project housings now

Undecided. Tearing up www.hidplanet.com for ideas. I have very little depth to work with.
