Yea, but you can see it covering the window trim. Unless Chrysler/Fiat is really trying to shoot themselves in the foot, thats not the way they designed it.

 

and the covering part (the seam at the front of that piece) seems to be just that a seam of where the two parts meet, proably easier and cheaper to make it that way
