So people from RTP are ignorant & racist?

Thanks for the lesson on the fake vents professor.. just because a 'vent' is from the factory doesn't mean it actually does anything more than the walmart vents, that site had some poor examples..

You tell me to grow up and then you say Cary is the "District 9" of the RTP area?

Why don't you take a dose of your own medicine?

I wouldn't want to own it but it's definitely interesting.. I wonder how it changes the drag resistance.. I'd imagine it would decrease.

I think I'd like it more in a different color combo.. that combo is a bit

lol I remember that A4. Its cool, but I'd never do it. Probably matches the stucco on those townhouses in the background

I think I'd rather do that roll-on enamel paint or whatever for what he was going for. Wouldn't be as durable as that bedliner, but it'd be tougher than a clearcoated paint job and would look better than bedliner.

Parks across from me in the garage, the "Lily Pulitzer" Jeep. Yes, every panel of this car is covered in the flowers or whatever. Easily grab a few more pics if you guys are interested in getting one of your own.

Mythbusters actually did a show on that. They took a clean Taurus and got a baseline MPG at a steady speed, then took the same car a coated it with a layer of mud. IIRC, the MPG was the same or slightly worse with the mud on it. They then took it a step further and coated the car with a layer of model clay and took divots out of it, basically making it look like a car-shaped golfball. Turns out that got about 3 MPG better than when clean.

I would suspect that in the case of this Audi, any nominal gains (if any) in fuel efficiency brought on by the reduced drag coefficient of the rough surface are more than offset by the increased fuel consumption required to accelerate the added mass of the coating.

cool.. Mythbusters FTW!. My friends civic got destroyed by a hail storm last year. I told her to take the fat check from the insurance and let the car be.. It's somewhat of an eyesore but she took my advice and she's getting better gas mileage.. lol.

as long as no glass was shattered, it is only cosmetic, so no problem in not fixing it, only thing is that it will decrease the resal value of it quite a bit depending on how bad it is, so might be worth it, to get it fixed in the long run
