Audi Will Bring The A6 And RS6 Avant To The US
Wagon lovers rejoice!

We've known for a while that Audi is working on a new RS7 Sportback, which will rival the new BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG. The new RS7 will boast over 600 horsepower from a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 shared with the Porsche Panamera, though some rumors have pointed towards a hybrid drivetrain borrowed from the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.
Now, an inside source at Audi has told us the next-generation RS7 will be joined by a more practical sibling, the RS6 Avant. Our source spoke to two Audi USA Executives, who confirmed that both the A6 and RS6 Avant models will be sold in the US market by 2020. If this information is accurate, our prayers for a fast Audi wagon in the US will finally be answered, hallelujah!

This is some of the best car news I have read in a while. I hope they depreciate like an anvil in water sinks. It could happen. You can get a 5 year old RS7 right now for about half the price of what it cost when new now.

Whats up with RDX owners?

If this turns out to be true, I'll probably have an A6 Avant in my garage in the next three years. It's one of those cars that I'm willing to give up the manual for - and those are words that I never thought I'd utter.

^ I like that idea too. Order two of them - I'll make the payments on the other one. But you have to come to VA to drive it

Hey he is doing you a favor. I will deliver to his door once a month for him to have it for his day as my part for him getting me the discount. Not that it would happen

Behold: The Menacing W123 AMG V8 Wagon of Your Wildest Dreams
Today, AMG is the in-house performance arm of Mercedes-Benz. Cars with AMG badges on them generally come with more performance-oriented bits, extra power and a higher price tag. And all of that can be traced back to cars like this 1979 Mercedes-Benz 500 TE AMG.
AMG started out as an independent engineering company that built race engines in the late ’60s. In the ’70s, it began offering upgrades and accessory packages for certain Mercedes-Benz cars, as well as building conversions.
This W123 wagon chassis is apparently one of the earliest ones to receive an AMG conversion treatment, according to its listing on RM Sotheby’s.

I've pondered finding a W123 wagon & doing something like a W202/W124 I6
A 5MT W123 with a W202 C36 drivetrain would be a blast.

The 1995 Volvo 850 T-5R was nuts for a family station wagon. It had a 2.3-liter turbocharged five-cylinder with an ECU tuned by Porsche for 243 horsepower, sticky low-profile Pirelli P-Zero tires as standard, and a drag coefficient of 0.29. And it only happened because, the previous year, Tom Walkinshaw Racing had done the unthinkable, campaigning a pair of 850 wagons in the British Touring Car Championship.
After the photo below made its rounds in the press, the T-5Rs sold out in no time, and regardless of its original, more sensible product plans, Volvo had no choice but to keep the fire going.
Which brings us to the 1996 Volvo 850R wagon. Yes, this special Volvo was also available as a sedan, but nobody remembers that variant. The 850R experience is all about the sleeper wagon with the five-speed manual, complete with the optional heavy-duty clutch and limited-slip differential, and 250 very well hidden horsepower as standard.
Torque steer? What torque steer?

Except the 7 does have a grille that huge
A week or two ago I saw an article where someone had photoshopped the grille to be much smaller (height) & it was a big improvement.

I think the wheels look too big. The last shot of all of those is best when it isn't sitting on the ground.
