So out here, the cheap gas is for..... Cheap gas. 85 Octane. I guess that works out here in the thin air. Costco was $2.28 for 85 and 2.98 for 91.

Filled up the bus for 2.799 on Friday at a Chevron by the house.
My usual station is 2.599 for 87, but is about 5 miles from the house

So 5 miles @ $.20/gallon savings. Assume at least 16 gallons, that would be $3.20 saved. But 10 miles for the round trip. Meh, save ~$2. Near the house is better. Once you're up to $.50 saved per gallon or more then why not?

Just a little over a week later, and that same station is $3.59 for regular now. Reports are this is due to BP "shutting down" a local refinery in Indiana. Yeah, sure. Manipulation. They found a cover to get away with it.

I filled up the CRV earlier this week at $3.22/gal for regular at Sam's Club. Premium was $3.60ish. prices are pretty consistent between them and Costco/BJs. Non-membership stations are still a solid 20-30 cents more per gallon for premium.

Went to Costco this week. $3.49 for 91 Octane.... Ugh, prices have gone up a dollar over the past few months. And I bet they go another $.25 between now and Thursday.

It was $4.76 / gallon for regular at the Costco in Marina del Rey on Thursday-, which is better than the $5 /gallon several weeks ago.
Premium is around $5 now. Costco and United Oil are generally lowest, so SoCal gas prices have stayed high for the past several months.

We're headed for Bakersfield in a couple weeks. Not looking forward to the gas prices, nor the $$$ for the Mousetrap.
Luckily, we'll have a PHEV Pacifica for part of the trip, should do a bit better than the Wagoneer we had for the trip last year.
