The Official Car Talk Video Thread
New episode [40] of Binky dropped yesterday
Even thought this project has dragged on for years, I still look forward to watching these. The amount of meticulous work/skill/fabrication these guys have done is pretty insane.
Glad to see they're still moving forward with it

Yikes. Brake-line failure, not brake fade?
Anyone remember this wreck from 2015? Magnus Walker sliding the famous "277" into a truck, with a journo on board, no less!
Driver error? (911's infamous snap oversteer in action.)

Do Thin Oils Destroy Engines? Lessons From GM’s Massive Recall
The best video I've seen about oil viscosity and engine wear, ~25 minutes long but Jason does a excellent explaining it with practical information.. He even includes a Honda and Toyota studies on use of thinner oils and wear.
A definite controversial, but I go by the same rational he states at 20:53 which is going by the oil recommended by the manufacturer and their engineers who know far more than any of us on the forums.

This is sad to watch. I loved watching Triple F on YouTube. After the passing of "Mama F" the boys called it quits for the most part and went their separate ways in terms of how they want to carry on after she passed. And now this.
Looks like the market thinks they paid too much for the McLarens.

If you can listen to James May go on, and on, and on, and on...... A nice video with Jay Leno. Really nice discussions concerning the British car industry back in the 60's. But the conversations seemed a bit, awkward? You guys tell me.

Def see what you're saying. They just don't seem to click. Any awkwardness seems to come from Jay's side.
He never directly address May's question, What's the attitude of folks in CA towards 1960s British cars? I guess it's also difficult to hold a convo in an open-top.
James just wants his In-N-Out burger.

Another take
I think if you start off using Tier 1 gasoline with additives and continue using them, with a new car then you will see the benefits over time. Trying to clean up carbon buildup afterwards with fuel additives might be a fools errand.
