as would I, but it would have to be the V10. I'm not a big fan of the sound of the V8. OF COURSE, I would not kick a V8 out of bed. 
The car is a bit quirky to me though, I mean I think it doesn't look too good (read: bad) from certain angles. The front end overhang is a bit odd especially. But that's just me nitpicking. Also I love that you can get MT on it - that would be a must.
btw, Dave Gahan (lead singer of Depeche Mode) currently drives a V10, in case anyone cares

Yea, Id prefer the V10 as well. I think is my favorite part of the car:

I think gated shifters are pretty but in terms of function and performance, I can't say I like them. I cannot shift as quickly with them as I can with 'regular' types. Also, they are not as consistently accurate. And I think these could be general statements, especially in a world where shifting speed is becoming so increasingly quicker (and automated). Now, if you want to talk driving EXPERIENCE, sure, I'll give a nod to the gate. There is something so classic about it.

Yea, I believe StreetKA posted a video in the car vid thread that was 11 minutes worth of exhaust notes. I believe there was a V8 R8 or two that sounded amazing.
And Ive heard that gated shifters are difficult to use quickly, but the R8 wouldnt be my track car. For daily duties I think it would be just fine. Ill take a Caterham over the R8 for the track.

...... as that photo was loading down (I clicked the link to it in the email) - I'm seeing the smoke and then I see the car and I kid you not, that is the ABSOLUTE last possible fuKing car I would have guessed that it was going to be. Brought a quick chuckle to my face. thanks. and, that's one of the hottest (maybe the hottest) F430 I ever seen. Those wheels and color just DO IT. Looks like aftermarket exhaust too, fierce.
