I saw one on the roads the other day and the huge headlights kinda caught me off guard.

I still love it though... wish I could have waited a bit longer before getting into a new car but I could not.

I REALLY dig this car.

I just sat in one at the dealership this past weekend as the wife was Civic shopping. It feels big on the inside. Will need to test drive one before I make any real conclusion though

If I wasn't 2 1/2 years into my TSX loan, I'd probably get one.

My parents were looking at the Fit over the summer while car shopping. My mom loves it, but it turned out it was a little small for them and didn't have a few features that my mom wanted. They ended up with a Civic EX-L.

Congrats. I'm a big fan as well. Sat in one last weekend and was very impressed with the interior quality.

Congrats on the Fit.

I'm still reserving my opinion on them. They don't look horrible. Something about 'em though.

Maybe I would like them more if I took a seat in one.

Either way, hope it treats you well.

I love it, sometimes I wonder if I should have picked one of them up instead of buying a used Integra.

I saw one race, ran an 18.8 1/4, pretty funny, made me feel better being there. Theyre pretty cool cars though, I'd buy one for the wife if I could afford one.

The FIT is awesome. We bought a Vivid Blue Pearl Sport when they were first released in 2006 as a 2007 model. We totally loved the car but ended up trading it in for an Accord V6 6MT because we had no need for a commuter anymore. WELL.... now we need a commuter again. We'll be trading back to a FIT next year.

PRO's...
- Lot's of room and interior is laid out perfect.
- The thing handles awesome!
- Very fun to drive.

CON's
- Gas mileage is not what they claim.
- Underpowered.

It's a neat car....til you drive it. Actually, it's really just the power that lacks. We test drove one a few years ago, and found it so under-powered/slow to accelerate with three average adults in the car that we thought it would feel unsafe to merge at highway speeds. I believe they've upped the power now, so that's probably not as much of an issue.

I doubt it. They only upped it about 10HP.

The 1.8 would be a great option.

Another cool FIT experience from my side. We traded in our FIT 6 months after we bought it. The dealership gave us $2000 more for it than we originally paid. High demand but none available.

I could only have the Fit if it was my second car. I couldn't see it being my only car.

Agreed...just lacks the get up and go. I test drove one last month and I thought it lack enough power for comfortable freeway driving. For a few thousand more I bought a Civic LX. I drive this more then my TL..it's a fun car and I get 34MPG with it.

I saw an 09 last night while driving home. I like the 09 MUCH better than the 07-08. It's a nice car.

Looks like a great little commuter. Redesign really improves looks.

+1 on love them but wouldn't really own one. I think I'd be wanting more power after a few days...

I bummed around in a Civic with all of its 105hp for the longest time, and though it was a good reliable car, I hated how slow it was. The scenery literally flies by when the light turns green on a multi-lane highway. Except it feels like you're driving in reverse.

its interesting some of the responses..

I just picked mine up and quick summary:

1. Much quieter and stable ride than the past gen
2. Could def. use an extra 10-15hp and more efficient auto...
3. Very firm driver side front seat....

BTW, my mpg calculator shows 33mpg and at one point showed 37+!

IMO, if you can live w/its distinctive looks and lack of power....it will probably make you a happy consumer....BTW, the packaging of the car is amazing...

I think it looks great in pictures, but then the other day I saw it, wasn't too thrilled with its looks, the nose ahead of the front wheels looks a bit longer than the outgoing model, not liking that much... just me?...

I bought a 1st gen xB over the Fit, but would definitely take the new Fit over the new xB

It was a tough choice for me, the fit is probably almost more practical than the xB, probably has a nicer interior, I think gets better gas mileage. I just thought it looked a little funny. Maybe it's just a little boring, or had weird proportions, i dunno. I'm curious how the paddle shifters work on it though

The front was lengthened by 4 inches over the JDM and global models. Supposedly it was to pass government regulation, but I don't see how 4 inches could make that much of a difference.

the versa is better
my roommate just bought the hatchback versa and my gf's roommate has the sedan versa and ive driven both and i must say they are impressive little cars. best econobox you can buy right now.

and yes i have driven the fit and civic and neither are close to how nice the versa is especially for a college city dweller.

It's too bad that diesel is taxed across the board and not differently for commercial and private auto use ... The new diesels available here really would make sense. The Jetta TDi is about $21k or so ... Really not a bad deal at 41MPG. But not when the fuel is $.80 more per gallon than regular gas.
