Off Topic New MDX in the family

I know this is not on topic, but I wanted to post about the new 05 MDX the wife just picked up.

First off this car needs a SERIOUS update

On the gripe side:
- No HIDS
- No 5.1 (it has XM but the Bose is horrid)
- No Mid disaplay (the 05 has bluetooth, but displays caller info on the radio)
- No audio controls on the Navi screen
- OLD dated looking guages
- Driver one touch window only (all others are manual)
- No dual climate control
- Minimal night illumination on the steering wheel and other components

Overall the car is just very very dated when compared to our TL's

On the plus side:
- Navi is significantly faster than ours, and has teh Zagat rating information.
- Rear view camera is awesome (don't know why the TL does not have this)
- Extra torque of the 3.5 is apparent
- Drives smooth as silk (smoother than my 04 TL)

overall I think the MDX is a nice car, but when compared to the other offerings from Acura and the competition it is truly showing its age!!

We will be trading in as soon as the new redesign comes out (rumour 06/07 model year)

Just wanted to give a brief overview!

why do you need a backup camera in a sedan....backup cameras are for SUV's and TRUCKs....thus putting it in the MDX :-)

Agree 100% we have an 02. With a remodel scheduled for next year, why did you buy an 05? Hope you managed to get a nice discount. Anyway, it's still a very nice vechicle, enjoy.

Would be nice to have in our TL. Can't see jack when trying to back straight out of parking space. MDX has a small camera lens mounted near rear plate, displays on navi screen. Should have been included on TL for $100+-.

The MDX is still quite nice for what it is. My dad just got a 05 about a month and a half ago and I just got to ride in it this weekend. I would love to have the information display in the center console on my non-navi TSX.
