Odyssey in heavy snow?

Wife and I have been thinking for some time about a larger SUV and/or minivan to eventually replace our CR-V. The issue is space, as we love the CR-V, but with my older in-laws living with us, we need more space, particularly on long road trips to see relatives.

I have been leaning towards the Odyssey, but with all this snow falling here in the 'Burgh today, I really wonder if the lack of four wheel drive and ground clearance (compared to an SUV) would be an issue. I really love how the CR-V handles the snow and bad weather, and don't really want to give up the ability to handle a big snowstorm.

My question is: How does the Odyssey do in heavy snow?

Odysseys do great in heavy snow.
we (Columbus,Ohio) the week prior to Christmas got 22 inches of snow(crazy right)and we took my mom's 00 Odyssey to the airport.
I still live with my parents and I had a choice between 3 cars (it was suppose to snow like 3-4 inches overnight):
I could have taken my mom's 00 Odyssey( which is good in snow because of Traction Control and it's good if you're used to front wheel drive)(120,000 MILES)
02 Toyota Tundra 4x4(this is good if your in really deep snow but hard on gas and plus i personally like to have the weight of the motor on the drive axle)about 50,000 miles)
or my 94 Accord EX(my beater) it has 275,000 miles.
I took the Odyessey because it's good on mileage(the new 05s are even better with that displacement on demand(that's slick)) and it does awesome on snow.
Only time it will suck is lets say you got snow up to your knees(then you'll struggle) but a mini-van isn't designed to bust through that.
but i've drug bottom through snow and been fine. so I recommend highly the odyessey.we're orginal owners with 120,000 on our 00 and no problems(knock on wood)

if you are at all concerned get a set of snow tires. This winter is my first year on snow tires and i must say it makes all the difference in the world.

I was kind of hoping he would pop in and give his

I wonder if the newer Odyssey's are even better in the snow, given they now have the stability control thingamagiggy, and I thinkg Provench has an '04 or '05.
