Non-exotic cars you can't get, but want
So, I like driving weird things. I am thinking of buying this car below. An Alfa Romeo 155.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1996-...item1c2f052eae
I've owned 2 Alfa Romeo 164's and irrespective of their high maintenance costs, were adequate drivers nonetheless. One of my current "odd ball" cars is an AMC Pacer, which was converted to fuel injection.
Here's my Gremlin
So...there is this car I really want. It is a Luxgen7 SUV. Obviously, I can never get it through because of import restrictions but it seems really cool nonetheless.
Are there any non-exotic cars you'd want but cannot get in the US? If so, what?
A side note. My favorite car of all time is the Skoda Superb with that interesting trunk opening.

Cool idea for a thread.
I'd have to go with the Civic Type R EP3
Second would be a Forester STi

I wanted a TSX wagon, in a stick.
Would have loved a diesel option too.

chronic lurker...
I have always wanted one of these. Not sure it qualifies as an exotic but when/if I can get one over here I am going to do it.
Barring I can find one without a blown up engine. (they tend to "malfunction" frequently.

I kind of dig TVRs as well. Unfortunately, TVR no longer makes cars.

i know it is essentially a G8 / CTS Wagon... but i love the styling of the Holden... I drove the Ute with the v8 6.0L last time i was in oz... that thing was fast...

+1 on the STi Forester.
My top pick, though, would be a 1993 190E 2.5-16 Cosworth Evolution II
Only 502 built & the last one I found for sale was $75k

IT-R, NSX-R or any generation Hilux.
I recently went on vacation in Costa Rica and the Hilux was everywhere. Old or new, gas or diesel, very rugged trucks. I'd say more rugged than a Tacoma back in the states, to each his own.

Ford Capri III RS turbo (German Ford, 1980s)
I've always been curious about the Australian Ford Falcon, too-- now in V8 or V6 turbo form, post-2002.
Everything else I want is an exotic (Monteverdi...) or available here.

Welcome to Olliewood
The Brera might be a case of don't drive your hero's lol. I drove it last year and boy is it unexciting. Sadly has been the case with most of the cars that I've wanted to drive while studying here in Europe. You should definitely just park it in your garage and just stare at it if you do get the chance to buy it haha.
The Scirocco R though..

Not a big fan of the styling on this thing but it has a 3-rotor Wankel. I want.
This gen STI is dated-looking and ricey. Don't care. Looks like a blast.
Same goes for the Celica GT Four. We got the ST185 Alltrac but I was never crazy about that one.
I always liked this Accord Type R (coincidentally the front end is very similar to a CL)
E36 M3 with the 321 hp engine. I realize the E46 is much better looking but it sounds like nails in a blender. I also prefer the E36 platform.
This one is coming to the US. But it's not road legal
I would love to have ownership experience for any and all of these. Plus there are all the cars you actually can buy here. Life is too short.
