nj vehicle inspection

my car is up for inspection...anyone know where i can find like a list of all the requirments i must meet?

or if you know:

will an intake fail?
will a airhorn fail?
does the front orange reflecter need to light up or can it just be a reflector?

Whats up Mike.

You probably won't fail for the first two.
I believe your supposed to have an orange reflector on the front of the car, but you may be able to get away with it if the bulbs blink orange.
But don't you have 20% Tint on the front? You'll never get around that unless you take it off. Might just want to find a private place that will pass you and not have to worry.

And wrong forum, should be in Car Talk.

whats up brett

yeah i didnt think the intake would matter much, but with the horn i thought there might be a problem with the tone or db lvl or that it's powered by air.

for the reflector i was just gonna buy one at a autoparts store and double stick it to my bumper...but i dont know if i should get one that lights up or not...

my tints i'm getting stripped....i might go for a new look

as for wrong forum...the last time i posted there wasnt so many differnt damn forums.

thanks for your help...maybe i'll see you at the next meet if i remember to check the forum

Yea, this site has changed a lot since we joined.

The only thing I ca see them complaining about the horns is the dB like you said, but I doubt they will care too much. My brother used to have an air horn in his car and I don't think he ever had a problem.

I think just sticking a reflector on the bumper is fine, I don't think it needs to be lit.

As for meets, there are 2 coming up in the area. One in Philly in May https://acurazine.com/forums/acurazine-clubs-meets-15/philly-acura-meet-sun-5-21-%40-noon-%40-belmont-plateau-335867/
and one at Ross Dock in Fort Lee at the end of April

The one in Fort Lee looks like it will be a good turnout plus its only like 30 minutes from Livingston.

glad Ohio doesn't have stupid inspections. only thing we gotta do is buy registration each year and we get little stickers to put on our plates. and ours is 70 or 75 bucks for 2 years with tax

i went through state inspection with intake and cleared lights no problems. i don't even have amber bulbs i just have clear bulbs that glow kinda amberish.

you should be fine.

tint is a problem and i have to get inspected in a year so hopefully i move by then or find a place that hooks people up.
