Seems fishy. Shouldn't be that cheap. More like lower 20s for that car, maybe high teens.

One thing I've noticed is that the ads that have have the pics in a perfect square are fake. Give them a call though and see.

I wonder why they wouldn't just say that in the description? Sooner or later the buyer would find out, wouldn't they?

It depends. If it was just stolen and then fixed properly and sold, it probably won't have many issues, except for not having a warrenty and a headache trying to insure it like TLSNKC said. But if it has a salvage title due to flood damage, forget it. Problems will pop up left and right later on (usually with the electrical system) and your gonna have to pay out of pocket to fix them.

Theres a reason they are so cheap and hard to sell.

Detailed Vehicle History Definitions:

Damage Disclosure
The title issued when the seller indicates that the vehicle has sustained damage as a result of one or more incidents. The amount of damage varies by state.

First Owner
When the first owner(s) obtains a title from a Department of Motor Vehicles as proof of ownership.

New Owner Reported
When a vehicle is sold to a new owner, the Title must be transferred to the new owner(s) at a Department of Motor Vehicles.

Personal Use
Vehicle was registered by the owner for private or personal use.

Rebuilt/Reconstructed Title
A Rebuilt/Reconstructed vehicle is a salvage vehicle that has been repaired and restored to operation. These vehicles are often severely damaged before they are rebuilt and refurbished parts are typically used during reconstruction. In most states, an inspection of the vehicle is required before the vehicle is allowed to return to the road.

Salvage Title
A Salvage Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value; or a vehicle that has been declared a Total Loss by an insurer or other state or jurisdiction. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage but the majority use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again in that state. The following ten States also use Salvage titles to identify stolen vehicles - AZ, FL, GA, IL, MN, NJ, NM, NY, OK and OR.

I think the reason sellers don't put that in the ad is to get people on the phone. Once you've got someone on the phone they've taken the first step. Putting "Salvaged Title, major rebuild" in the ad will probably net you 0 calls (and rightfully so!)

To many, that may be worth it...to ME personally, it wouldn't even be worth 10k.
sure, you're getting a nice looking car for 10k, but when you have problems, you pay for them...and there could be MAJOR currently unknown problems. These problems could cost you 5k or more, not to mention the hassle of not having a car while it's getting fixed. Now you've spent $15,000 for a car that is barely worth more than that with a clean title, not to mention your resale value is not even worth what you have now put into it.

You might get lucky and get a salvaged car that will never have to be fixed again, but it is not likely. Just my
