New V6 Camry

I just want to say add that the V6 Camry traps 93mph in the 1/4 mile. My bone stock TL trapped 94mph. With that being said the Camry is a quick cars, maybe faster from a dead stop than the TL but from a roll its even. I highly doubt I'd run into a Camry willing to race.

Pretty funny when the most milk toast car on the market can beat a TL.

I don't know why everyone (or a least a few) were freaking out when they heard that the Camry "was soooo fast". It really isn't. If you have the right equipment under the hood and you check the numbers....

@ these threads

And the new Camry isn't *THAT* fast, its geared right, just like the IS350.

It can probably beat both of the cars you have in your driveway too....It is essentially the same engine as the 3.5 in the IS350. Not bad for a Camry, but i'm pretty sure the new AV6 walks it.

Do you think the TL is the fastest car on the road? Seriously, do you?

It doesn't. The VCM hinders the Accord's acceleration, and the 6spd auto in the Camry is very efficient. Auto V6 vs auto v6, the Camry is faster. Not by much, though. And it gets similar mileage as the Accord - without the use of VCM.

Not sure if the V6 comes with a manual in the Camry. The Accord's manual V6 doesn't have VCM so it will post better times than the auto.

Camry V6 doesn't have manual as far as I know. Accord V6 coupe 6MT can do 14@102.5mph which is much faster than the Camry 14.3@99mph (in a newer article in C&D it did 14.3@93mph). You will need a TL 6MT or TL-S 5AT to keep up with the Camry V6. And the TL-S 6MT will not have too much problem beating the Camry.

But I don't really see a problem here, the Camry V6 can beat some TL's, but it would also beat E90 330i (14.4@98mph), 328i, 1g G35, 1g IS300, WRX, C350, C300...etc...

I believe that one of killer's cars is a Mazdaspeed6....which should beat the Camry V6.

I don't think the AV6 6MT has VCM.

I've had the rental Camry on two occasions...a standard LE and a Hybrid.
Both had rubbish interiors (so much for Toyota quality), the LE handled very poorly and lacked in power. It was near impossible to continue at high speeds with out use of cruise control. We were out in the middle of nowhere Kansas, and when you let off the gas at 90 mph, even a little bit, it was like stepping on the brake. The Hybrid still had handling issues (had to slow down on the highway to take a curve), but it was a little quicker. Sounded just like a golf cart.

the thing about the Camry is... it's sooooooooooo plain and bland. I almost would rather have a car that's considered ugly by some... at least it gets attention and people talk about it...
I think the Camry is a great car to commit crimes with tho... because the witnesses won't remember what the suspects drove away with

My company car is a Camry albeit a 4 cylineder and I would buy one for my wife in a heart beat. I drove from Atlanta to Knoxville, Tn and back to the south side of Atlanta on 1 tank of gas (480 miles). When it was time to fill up I had well over a quarter tank. The fill up was about $49 bucks. The ride is very smooth and quiet and the engine is not thrashy like some 4 cylinders.

There are bland adaptations of most cars out there. I would honestly rather have this car:

then this one:

In this case, I think the Accord is a LOT more bland then the Camry.

Your also using a boring picture of the accord vs a more intersting picture of the camry.

And what's your point? That is what is out there. There are more bland adaptations of each car, just like I said. I have seen some VERY nice Camry's quite recently, and I have also seen some REALLY bland and boring looking Accords. My gf's 05 Accord is nicer looking then the new ones in my opinion.

Just saying its preception. Than again the accord and camry are supposed to be bland to a certain point.

Definitely. And in general, looks are subjective anyway. I am just saying that there are some very nice Camry's out there to counter all the people saying how much nicer the Accord is. Not in every case.

It also depends on what your more into. From what I understand the Accord is more of a sporty ride vs the camrys luxury ride. Plus now people can also choose altima, sononta etc.

All camry other than SE trim are boring and bland to drive. The SE version on the other hand is actually way better than Accord.

You can't judge how good camry handles by driving hybrid.

The SE handles way better than Accord.

The only Camry I'd ever consider buying is the SE. Best looking/performer by far. The new Accords are IMO. They may perform well but they look awful.

I like the Accord's exterior much much more than the Camry. I just wish it also had projectors, like the Camry. And the rear taillights could extend into the trunk just a little bit. There's too much empty real estate back there.

Meh, it's Front Wheel Drive

and would have a hard time keeping up with my AWD Mazdaspeed 6

My Legacy always gets mistaken for a camry. And treated as such until I give a little gas.
