New types of lights (quasi bmw/audi hybrid)

I tried looking online for these lights i saw yesterday. A range rover was riding my ass and the lights were in my rearview. The rings were halo but dotted. I do not know if these are the new range rover lights or were taken from elsewhere. If anyone can find pics of these lights, it would help my horrendous descriptions.

I think that these aftermarket lights will be a passing fad. A solid led srtip (like Audi's) may have practical applications, but has yet to be refined to my tastes.

The LED strips are going to be more of a trademark for Audi/VW group just like the halo's were on BMW headlights. I think right now everyone is on the band-wagon for them like lexus and MB, but in a bit they will probably drop them.

see em all the time. IMO, they look terrible. everytime i see a range, the first thing i think of is how the LEDs are too spaced apart. you lose the consistency of the ring shape. it looks more like an unorganized polygon of dotted LEDs. surprised land rover decided to go this route - it really cheapens the look.

For me, it made the range rover more unique. They created their own design (although its a mesh of audi and bmw). I see many cars with either the audi and/or bmw separately. It's pretty unique right now.

Maybe acura would try to create unique headlights or something. It would be nice to see other brands imitate a new accessory that comes stock on an Acura.

I think the automotive world would crumble if it followed all of Acura's newer designs.

And Kia if I'm not mistaken. I think it's kinda tacky to just rip off something else so blatantly. Benz does the LEDs as fog lights, but still.

I can understand that, its kind of flattering to Audi however most of the poor executions like on the Lexus IS just puts it to shame. I mean some of the LED strips done by members here look tacky and gaudy, not like the MB or Audi strip that looks nice and classy...

I agree completely. They look very unorganized.

i love LED DRLs. they are much less blinding to oncoming drivers than highbeam DRLs yet much more noticeable.

I think the reason they're more noticeable is because they're not very common and people gaze at them. Ultimately, amber is the best color for DRLs. Although not as attractive.

Or more people would be using their cars to grade cheese and open beer bottles.

IMO, Audi and MB are the only ones that I like. The rest look out of place.

The Audi ones look pretty original, and the rest look a little out of place to me.

I saw a new Kia Sportage (I think. Or another Kia SUV) with the brightest damn LEDs I've ever seen. Looked tacky. They didn't even go the whole length of the headlight...just 3/4 of the bottom of it.

I kind of don't mind OEM led strips but when people start putting them on there Lexus IS or Acura TL

For the RR, I've never seen them in person so I'm not sure how they look but from the pictures. They're pretty tacky imo.
