I think the only redeeming factor is that it will bring the price of the R34's down, so that maybe I can snag one from Motorex in a few years...

Hate to tell ya, but that is the oldest of the old R35 GT-R guesses. Being that it will have to share a platform w/the R35 Skyline we see above, this is much more likely, if at all:



One thing that will be different from the sketch is that the headlights should be double-decked, like the R35 above. The sketch artist might have been given a glimpse of the real development mule, and tried to recall as much as he/she could on pure memory.

If it ends up w/the Q45's V8 for North America, it should be a good match for the 911, M3 and Corvette Z06 at ~$50K, which would be smarter than going after the borderline-exotic pricing of the NSX.

I think Nissan will bring this car to America in a not-too-far-future in order to compete against some popular sport sedans from BMW and Lexus. And that's the main reason why Nissan change the style of the Skyline so quick(only three years I think) because R34 is not popular in Japan and would not satisfy American's taste.
