This is a hard decision.

The M3 is alot more functional than the NSX. If I owned an NSX I would not have it as a daily driver. If your talking about a weekend car I would get the used NSX. The M3's resale value is good but a low mileage perfect condition NSX is just as good if not better. Now if you get it as a daily driver and rack up the miles on it... that's a different case.

As for the warranty, the M3 would give you 4 years, 50K miles mostly all maintenance covered. The NSX would probably be close to or out of warranty and I can imagine they will be pricey to fix.

Either way I think you'll be happy.

i'd go with an M3... i dont like used cars. i guess it does depend on whether you'd use it as a weekend car or a daily driver like Ernie said.

I'd say NSX.... Bimmer's seem to age REALLY quickly to me.... The previous gen M3 and alot of newer 3 series aren't head turners like an NSX is.... I'm thinking that the new M3 is not gonna have the same appeal in few months....

this is confusing......its like half the ppl will go with an m3...the other with the nsx...
It happens that there is a used m3 only 3000 miles (02)
and a used 98 nsx 8000 miles. The price is not that far apart,,and they r both black!

More opinions??

The NSX. Everybody who wants to be somebody has a 3 series, and the dumb bitches can't tell the difference between a 325 and a m3. The NSX is rare and when the women see an exotic they want to be exotic!

I noticed alot of people here just say NSX or M3 how about some objective reasoning.......

Review my initial post again because it's a matter of why you are buying it.

NSX-T for me

always been a dream car for me...definitely has the looks!!! has enough power for me...M3 at least has some practicality to it has power, storage, room for more than 1 person, etc. but i'm not basing my decision on practicality here...i've always been in love with the look, both inside and out.

Well i would get the NSX, and a beater (a 90 accord er sumin), just because u r right, the NSX might be expensive to repair, but so is the Bimmer is it not? Also the NSX is just 10x hotter to me. It looks exotic. The M3 looks like a 3 series with a kit. I also am intrigued by viewing an engine through a plate of glass, that is soooo hot. The handling is better, and the acceleration is about the same. The accord would cover any need for a rear seat, which i wouldnt have, 1 guy 1 bitch. It is perfect!

And o yea, the NSX SOUDNS NICEEEEE.

i think it comes down to how much PUSSY you want?

NSX
will get heads turning
girls dig it
cause indirect fender benders
its rare on the roads
pretty much for speed and show

or

m3

class
sport
speed
handling
big on safety
luxery
power
back seat
and more

damn thats a tough decison i would like to have both cars but at the age of 21 i know i should get an m3 but i would get the NSX eventhough i might regret it...

well it all depends on what you want and i think you cant lose either way

If you get an m3 = 2 more seats = morons always asking for rides, NSX = girls

M3,

It's the smart choice. More practicality AND faster. The NSX turns an 8:38 lap at the Nürburgring, the E46 M3 does an 8:22. Much faster.

Yeah, and I'm sure he's planning to do track racing very soon.
Only one choice....well I am a little biased.

My old boss had an NSX. He took me out to lunch once and got on it at every chance he could. It sounds as good as an M3 at WOT more high pitched though while the M3 has a raspy sound. I would definitely check into insurance, etc. before setting your heart on one or the other. Once again, is it your primary driver or weekend car. If it is a weekend car NSX no doubt but even then I would keep the mileage low.

NSX at full throttle only sounds good in the cockpit. From outside you don't hear jack. But, you can always get an exhaust afterwards.

NSX pros:
One of the best sticks evar.
Great gearing.
Reliable.
Targa top is just dead sexy.
Comptech.

NSX cons:
Seriously outdated interior.
Body shakes with targa.
You'll be getting new tires with every other oil change.
Lots of penis jokes and stupid people calling you corvette wannabe.
Room for only 1 set of golf clubs.
Have to get aftermarket hids.

BMW pros:
4 seats.
Nice interior with creature comforts.
Great power and torque.
Classy looking car for any enviroment.
Can fit body in truck if needed.

BMW cons:
bmw dealerships (on average).
4 seats but only 2 doors.
Less reliability.
Looks may age quickly.
bmw stigma.

M3 all the way

IMHO oppinion, NSX is an excellent sports car for the 90s, but a so so sport car for the 00s. Power to weight ratio is similar in both vehicle, but M3 has proven to be a better sports car at the nurburding. I also think M3 has better resale. Look at the E36 M3 and you know why. And if TL-S comes out next year with 280hp that is basically a dead warrant to the old 3.2l DOHC VTEC. So, yeah M3 all the way no doubt!
