Unhappy New Lexus IS Convertible Commercials

Is there something I am missing? am I the only one that does not get the commercials? "live a little....a lot"......What the heck is that supposed to mean?.....and the commercials themselves make no sense....The helicopter, the chicks running on the bridge, the people following the car???

Can someone with a creative hair tell me WTF? what do the commercials mean?

Since this is about the commercial, not about the vehicle I didn't go to car talk....

I am stumped with the commercials too. Did I miss the first one and now don't understand the other ones?

They make no sense to me either. Lexus's marketing department made an epic fail.

It's carried onto the car's site: http://www.lexus.com/LiveALittle/?s_...0609:MainImage

It may help shed some light.

I did an online survey for two of their commercials and I wrote confusing for both.

makes sense to me. When you tell someone to live a little, you're telling them to throw caution to the wind and have some fun. A lot is just telling you to do it more often. but because the catchphrase ends with the word little, and they're telling you to do it a lot, it's a juxtaposition between two words that are seemingly opposite.

Yeah, the "live a little, a lot" slogan is not as confusing as the commercials themselves....that's the part that I am really confused about..

yeah my gf and I were just talkin about those commercials yesterday after like 4 of them came on within a half hour. None of them make sense to me at all, After the helicopter one I wa like, WTF? But then I saw the one with all the people chasing the car and actually laughed at how retarded it was.

In two of the commercials I can see the jumping in part because it's a convertible, but the rest of it

Put in semen and watch what happens lol HA HA HA HA HA

Put in "vodka" for the "what else would warm you up when the top's down?" question when you click on the climate control button and see what happens...funny

uhhh, I drove a 250 rwd IS for about 8 mos. before I traded it away and bought myself a Civic SI instead. It drives very softly and luxuriously down the road without a doubt, but it is a fucking snore if you consider yourself a spirited driver.

Makes sense to me too. As for the actual commercials... I never really paid that close attention I guess. I generall watch car commercials just to get a good look at a car. Once I've seen a commercial featuring that car, I do not watch any other commercials for it. So when the IS-C commercial first came on... I watched it to see the car and now when one comes on I flip the channel like I would with any other commercial...

The only thing I can figure with the two women is...the woman is red is the wife, chasing the girlfriend, and he goes and picks up the girlfriend.

OK, I actually watched one all the way through... the one where everyone is chasing the car.

Doesn't seem that confusing to me. Everyone was running (basically racing) with the first one being able to drive the car... the guy "won" the race, hopped in, and started driving while everyone was still trying to get to the car.

The point of the commercial is to make you think and talk about the car, and judging by this thread the ads are a home run.

They are very forgetful and neither commercial really says anything about the car.

The one with the helicopter is the worst because when the IS hits the breaks when it gets to the cliff you can hear what sounds like break squeal.

Then you have the one with all the cars from the IS line and the passengers yawning. Why would they be yawning? A sign of what may happen when you drive an IS?

Either way the commercials are a total disaster. We remember them because we are enthusiasts. However, I doubt you're gonna see the typical Lexus buyer talking about these commercials with their friends or even remembering what they were about.

Funny enough I was just coming in to post this. The marketing department did their jobs and did it well!!

As are most commercials which is why I generally have a channel or two on standby... so I can change the channel when a commercial comes on my main program
