Thanks guys!! This has definitely been my favorite car that I've owned so far but now I'm coming back to the Honda family for an S2000 Still looking for a good one though.
Just put the Z up on Craigslist so if anyone wants the cleanest 95' 300ZX for sale in Texas, hit me up! And if you know of a good S2000 around then hit me up!
Thanks guys! I have been loving the S2K! I just put in a Competition stage 2 clutch with Competition Ultra Lightweight flywheel. (8.8 lbs)
And my hardtop just came in Going to install it this weekend and update with some pics.
So I unfortunately missed the TX meet after a series of unfortunate events.
Short story, I blew the engine..
I was going to drop a VH45 or LS1 in it but I don't have the funds for that kind of swap right now so I just rebuilt the engine so maybe a turbo in the future.
On the way home from picking it up I got stuck in 4th and thought it was the clutch master cylinder because I lost clutch pressure and they are known to fail in S2000s. Replaced it, rebled, same problem.. Has to be clutch related and I don't have the time right now to take the tranny off again so it's sitting at the shop waiting to get worked on.
Depending on what the problem is, I'm staying with a stage 2 clutch because it's a prime candidate for a turbo so who knows, I might be boosted by next meet
Yeahh, that LS1 would have been a beast but would have been a looooong project compared to bolting on a turbo. (or two)
Thanks! Engine feels great, pushes even better than before.
Remember that clutch I was talking about earlier? Well, here's what the problem was:
To everyone that has a Clutch Delay Valve on the slave cylinder and ended up putting in a stage 2+ clutch with a lightweight flywheel, make sure you take out that delay valve or this could happen if you shift too fast..
As a BRZ owner who's gotten to drive a S2000 before its S2000 all the way. Too bad Honda decided they didn't need such an amazing car in their lineup.
Although I'm not really into drifting I did love how easy and controllable the FRS was to drift. Try that in an S2000 and you'll get harsh snapoversteer all day..
For real! I can't believe with the success of the BRZ/FRS that Honda didn't put a RWD sports coupe back in their lineup! I as well as I'm sure many here would be all over that..

Wow...you just made me realize that I'm happy I don't have to deal with that, living in Florida and all.
Are you a top always on kinda guy? I recently sold my hard top as it was sitting in my garage collecting dust. It was Sebring too. I'm kinda having seller's remorse, but I drive topless EVERYWHERE (the car too ) I picked up an 04 Sebring in November...I'm madly in love.
that sucks man. This weekend I ran over a HUGE pile of snow/ice with my FX35, right down the middle of the car. Cracked the bumper, under carriage plastic ripped off, dented radiator (not leaking thank God), broken radiator support, cut tubing for tranny cooling. Got stuck on this mountain of ice and snow for 45min trying to dig myself out at -20C. Sometimes shit just happens in bad conditions, there was nothing I could do

It is a bummer but it could have been much worse. I'm just glad I was able to keep it on the right side of the road even after smacking the curb.
Haha yeah, Florida doesn't throw random freeze days in January like Texas..or maybe you do? Either way, it rarely ices over here in San Antonio but when it does......

I feel ya man. There was nothing I could do either..
All this is like a nightmere that I can't wake up from. I really wish this was just some stupid April Fools prank..
Hit a deer and now the S2000 is donezo. All that hard work working my way up from a used CL to acquiring my dream car that I thought I would never be able to own down the drain. Insurance isn't giving me shit. I wish I could just wake up and it all be dream..
Frik, that sucks. We have a serious problem with those rats with hooves around here. Did it get the A-pillar, or just the door there? Any frame damage?
I loved that S2000 so much and had a great 2 and a half years with it but it's ok, it's only a possession, nothing more. If the buck waited a little longer to dart out could have gone up my hood and been much worse for me so there's that.
But as I move on from one vehicle I don't like getting the same thing as I always have such a strong attachment to my cars I feel that the next S2000 wouldn't be the same and I'd be damned if I ever downgrade so I have been looking over the last couple weeks for something nice, test driving many kinds of cars from 370Zs, to a Genisis, from Laredo to Dallas waiting to finally drive 'the one' that I knew I could spend at least another 3 years (hopefully more this time) with. Interestingly enough, when I was coming back in town from checking out this super clean 370Z I got a call from someone that I didn't expect to hear back from as I offered such a super low price than what it was worth so I have enough room for him to haggle up a little and it was a car way out of my price range but if the price was right, I would pounce on it, I just didn't think that he would ever agree to go so low, but he did. Met up at a Target parking lot on the way home and when I was pulling into the parking lot and my lights lit up his car it was shining ALL OVER like a brand new car from the body, wheels, and exhaust to even the tires and brake calipers! Just then I remember thinking "If he's seriously going to accept my lowball offer that he agreed to and that everything checked out on the test drive and pre-buyers inspection then this is DEFINITELY the one." To make a long story short, it looked and drove like you would expect a 37k mile car to look and drive. My mind was blown.
So there was one thing that did bother me about the car that I notice during the test drive and that was the magnetic selective ride control error that are sometimes pretty common with the first year of the C6 with magnetic selective ride control that was a must have for me. It is awesome technology that makes your sports car ride like a luxury car but corner like a race car. Anyway, the car is still in warranty so I'm going to have him take it to the dealership to get that taken care of since it's still in warranty. I of course didn't buy it on the spot as I know that the magnetic selective ride control is ridiculously expensive to replace or fix if I were have to deal with it so I made a deposit to make sure it doesn't go anywhere else and the appointment is Monday morning and Monday can't come soon enough!
Here's some pics of the new hotness.
