New car time...update: Purchased '01 325i
I got into an accident yesterday and I am 99% sure that my TL is going to be total loss. So I have already started to look for the replacement but dunno what to get. Don't want to get stuck with Honda again. This time something different.
Budget $6K-$7.5K, Manual + RWD. Prefer 4 doors but can consider 2 door also. Suggestions?
TL..
Loved this car. One of the best built Acura's ever..

I've looked in that price range for a fun second car before ... Good luck. Most of that price range is full of turd FWD shitboxes or abused german cars.
If you can hold out with a little patience you might find a diamond in the rough.
RWD is going to prove to be a short list but you might find a 2004 G35 if you get lucky. It's probably going to have close to 100k on it though.

At that price range I would probably stay away from the german because of reliability. Maybe not so much Mercedes, but I would definitely stay away from BMW unless your willing to spend a lot on maintenance.
My best guess would be a G35? But then you gotta do the 2 doors. Maybe even a hyundai genesis? But thats 2 doors also. I can't think of any non two door rwd that would be reliable at that price, off the top of my head.

Sorry about the TL, sounds like you're okay which is the important thing.
This question gets asked a lot...maybe we should add a sticky for "Best Used Cars - Check Here First" or something like that. Or a sticky for each - "Best Used Cars Under $10K", "10K - 20K", "20K - 30K", etc.
As for an E46, I recently sold my 2003 325i with 76K miles for $12,500, so in the $6 - $7.5K range, IMHO it's gonna be a high-mileage beater.

Good suggestions. I for some reason don't like G35 sedan, coupe on the other hand but its almost double the money compared to sedan. Been looking around for 3 series. I got my friend a deal couple of weeks ago on an 02 325i for $7800 with 77k miles on it. Now that I need one I can't seem to find one like that. Most are high miles. IS300 sounds good too but interior is compared to my old TL IMHO.

Someday, an RS6 Avant+
2004/2005 Subaru Legacy GT - 250 HP, Turbo, AWD, 5MT, and 4 doors....($6-9K)
2006 MazdaSpeed6 - 270 HP, Turbo, AWD, 6MT, 4 doors.....but a little more ($14-16K)
Two that come to mind that are not types.

Don't have too many suggesting outside what others have posted, but I'm glad you're OK after the collision.

Just type in that price range into Craigslist and see what pops up. An older IS300 would be a good candidate, or maybe an SC300 5mt and save for 2JZ-GTE re-gut.
Any used German hardware in that price range will probably be a nightmare.

It's hard to find anything in that price range. I've been looking day and night for cars $6K-15K and even finding that difficult.
Closest I found to what you're looking for is a 05 G35 sedan 6MT w/130K on the clock for $9K

Yeah, I just searched all the online car sites and found nothing but high mile shit boxes. I might have to bump up my price range, which I don't want to but I guess there is no other way around. I hate car shopping, so stressful and tiring.

Well, if you walked away from that, let alone was able to at least type and search for a new car yesterday, you should send a thank you Honda's way.
Anyway, the most plentiful, fairly well maintained RWD, manual transmission cars for under $10K I've seen are Mustangs. If the WRX is low rent, it'll probably seem similar, though.
I'd probably stay away from BMW anytime a budget is a consideration, unless you can go really far back and can do a lot of the repairs yourself. You may want to watch out for a Subaru Legacy GT. They have a far nicer interior than the Imprezzas. It'll be tough to find one in your budget, however.

Drifting an AWD car is a win. No doubt.
