New Car - 335i
Some of you may call me a sucker...
I dropped my 335i coupe off today at the dealership to get the windows tinted. This was not a free tint included in the price of the car. During the sale, the dealership finance guy made me a good offer for the tinting ($269 +tax) so after driving it for a week, I took it in to have it done. Made the appointment over the phone and indicated it was a "pay" service not a free one. Total was going to be $299 including tax, etc... No prob, I was cool with the price.
When I arrived to pick the car up, the invoice said $0.00 due. The girl working the service counter said something like "Right, it was a brand new car right? That's how it usually is. You should just sign the papers and go."
Knowing that's only how it is when its negotiated into the price of the car, and knowing that:
A. I didn't negotiate that
B. Someone was going to be held accountable for the labor/material costs
I asked for my service advisor and told him I had arranged the tinting outside of the sale and was quoted a total of $299.
He looked at me, said most people wouldn't have said anything, and then rang me up for $250 total.
I was happy to pay.
Am I nuts?

That's called being a classy fellow. Granted most people would not have done that, but I commend those who do it. It's the RIGHT thing to do.

I might have been tempted to skip out if it was like $700 and I was pissed about it, but I was cool with the price (kinda surprised actually).
Rick, thanks bud! I am out of town this weekend but next weekend it gets clay, polish, sealant and wax. Pics will be up following that for sure!

Ceramic tint.
that's about the going rate around here for a car, I think... Seemed reasonable.
There are a few issues with the fitment/application, though, so I will be bringing it back to have them look it over.

Not bad for Ceramic. I paid $400 to have my M3 sedan to be tinted with Huper Optik
I thought you got regular non-metallic...and thats WAY too high.
Places around here wanted $500 for ceramic (huper optik) on my challenger...I said f it. Went with a really reputable shop and did non-metallic. Went back there for the Prius.

I guess the angel eyes are cool, but there is NO way to have the car running and have NO lights up front. Tough to sneak up on people that way... Also, no way to set the fogs to be on all the time. Have to manually turn them on each time you start the car.
The lip is the factory Sport package (not to be confused with the M Sport Package).
