Death to Chris Bangle. What's the word I'm looking for? Ummmm.....FUGLY!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, that's it! Although in all fairness, I thought the new Z4 was heinous in pix but it looks pretty damn good in person. I just hate that BMW - advertised as an 'engineering first' company for years is now dominated by an American Stylist with the aerodynamists relagated to the corner. Pathetic IMHO $0.02

umm the new ferrari enzo was styled by a japanese

the new accord was styled by an american

i guess: what is the industry coming 2????

Simple: better aerodynamics and c/d at the expense of design

Bigpimp ur absolutely fucking correct...the worse thing 2 do is: as ur abt 2 switch into the right lane at 70mph and then turn ur head arnd 2 see whats back of u...even taking ur eye off the road for .5sec can be disastorous

bigpimp, are u originally from NY? rondog's frind?

Its futuristic, but I don't like it. Maybe it will grow on me once I see them on the roads over here.

Personally, I think Beltfed consistatnly makes some of the most informative posts on this board. I for one thought his review was pretty good. Seeing that only one person has actually seen this car in person, eveyone else is just spouting off opinions and speculation based on nothing more than a couple of mag pictures at this point

It was not Belfed's review. It was a review posted by some quy somewhere else. Beltfed just copied and pasted it. Believe me, Beltfed does not post shit like that.

What the FECK?! How many engines do they need?!

Turbo inline 6, turbo 2L 4banger, current 2.5 3.x 3.35,4.tfdzd0245j

What the hell? Sounds like a bunch of guesswork by whatever mag site you found that news in. I call BS on all that engine crap.

They only need like 2-3 engines max in the 5series: one for the low end, one for the regular, and one for the M5.

I love THIS line in the review.....

In fact, I would be embarrassed to drive this car or even to ride in it as a passenger.

Smaller engines would be for Europe, biggers ones for US.

Why was the review shitty? I think it's the only post in this thread worth reading (including mine).

Why would anyone bhuy this new 5-series over the new Merc E-class?

I2nd that notion -- 2 x Beltfed doesn't waste anyone's time when he posts b/c his posts are always making either a valid point or letting us Cl'ersknow about something new in the world

I thought I made valid points why the review was shitty. Read up on my previous post.

I never said that I everyone should buy the 5 over the E class. So I dont think that comment is directed at me. However, wait till the final 5 comes out b4 you make blanket statements such as that.

As far as the review, it all depends on the source. Anyone can write a good or a bad review, but if I am gonna trust it, I hope it comes from someone credible, and I dont think that guy is very credible. I stated why I believe his opinion is discounted in this case.

Yeah, I know. I obviously read your post because I posted after you. I just don't agree with you. =) Don't take offense to my post, it's not meant to belittle your thoughts. I'm disappointed in this car, and I think it's accurately described in Beltfed's second hand review. People here always try to change my mind about the new BMW styling, telling me that it's too sophisticated for me to understand, or that it will grow on me. I doubt it, I've seen plenty of new 7-series over the last year here in Westchester, and I still think they're hideous. Hideous, yet strangely impressive because of it's size combined with angularity that's so challenging to look at. It's like looking at an ill-designed modern building something.

I never said that I everyone should buy the 5 over the E class. So I dont think that comment is directed at me. However, wait till the final 5 comes out b4 you make blanket statements such as that.
Of course it's not directed at you alone, it's a general statement. I hope that the final version of the new 5-series looks nothing like it does in the pictures posted here, but I know that that's probably not going to be the case.
