New addition to garage
Well today I pick up my new car (w/ 3 miles on the odometer ) Its getting lojack installed right now, and the porter is waxing it. I pick up the car later today although its 120 miles away in 100 degree weather.
I ended up getting a Wicked White Lancer Evolution IX SSL for one heck of a deal, I almost got into an MR edition but I couldn't justify the price difference.
It was a good deal and I thought why not, I've always wanted one. The car salesman really convinced me when he informed me that this was the last shipment of Evolutions until 2008 when the Evolution X comes out. The resale value of these cars is phenomenal. I was opting to buy used but people were asking too much for evolution VIII's.
The car drives phenomenal. It really demands all of your attention. I don't see myself driving this car as a daily driver. The seats are not all that comfortable(rather stiff), sitting upright and constantly thinking about the gearbox is going to get a bit to get used to, but I got to admit its a great experience driving the car and it puts a huge grin on my face everytime I get out of the car. I can't get over how nice the brembos look along with the front mount intercooler. Totally the opposite my automatic TL, the steering is precise, theres always plenty of torque and hp available especially in 4th and 5th What really impressed me was the fact that in 5th gear @ 85mph the car is a little under 4000rpms and the turbo is just starting to spool the car just wants to go faster!!11 I am really happy with my purchase. If anyone is thinking about one, I can refer you so you can get the JULY discount price ( July only)Pics shortly

My friend is actually thinking about selling his TL-S and buying an Evo because he's in love with the turbo setup. I agree with you on the whole non-daily driver sentiment, but oh well, just enjoy it. Good luck with the car - and get some pictures, damnit!
