New 2005 Mustang GT 1/4 mile run

Not to happy with the "retro" styling. I guess I'm just too young for that.

96 MPH is NOT FAST enough for a 13s pass. He had a good launch too.

I'd still be a couple of car lengths behind though...
Remember this was only one run captured on video. So you can't base this video on what the new Mustang GT is capable of, for all we know the driver could be a poor driver who knows. And you have to take the guy's word for the 14.2s time. Also we don't know if it was an auto or a 5 SPD.

I'm at the track all the time. Never seen a stock GT break out of the 14s. The Mustang GT since the 5.0 days has always been "designed" to do 14s from the factory.

While NJ is not as dry as Tx, it's definitely cooler. Odds are, the ones you're seeing arent stock; they may not be modded much but they're not stock.

Lower than sea level doesn't matter much when it is hotter than NJ. Also the tracks in NJ are around 300 ft above sea level. That's not going to make a huge difference.
Also, obviously gears will make a HUGE difference in acceleration at the track.

Of course gears will, but he still ran a 13.9 stock.
