Good bye Acura...I wil sorely miss my TL SH-AWD 6MT...

As anticipated before, another 4G owner leaves the family....I will miss my TL (I do already) and I been tempted to keep it but frankly I do not have space in my driveway.

The arrival of the second dog has forced us to take either the Wagon or the SUV route....and in doing so my wife did want have at least some of the sporty feeling of her Infiniti Q50 which we got in September (now it becomes my car)

Sadly, no Japanese brand offers anything remotely close to the type of performance we were looking for...it was either German, British or good old American.

We loved the gorgeous Infiniti QX70 but, in an asinine decision (reminiscent of the type of decisions Acura usually makes) Infiniti decided to drop the V8 for the MY 2015....furthermore the cargo space is really limited compared to the external dimensions

This is what we got.....an almost fully loaded Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT (we declined only the tow package, the rear seat DVD system and the Laguna leather tan colored seats, too delicate)

Absolutely love that HEMI rumble and the acceleration is face-distorting (I did not try the Launch Control yet )

I will keep browsing on this forum from time to time...thank you all!!!

Very nice truck. That is a lot of buttons on the steering wheel (which I prefer). Hopefully they don't go the Acura route and put in multiple LCD screens.

If you get 15MPG in the SRT, you are losing 5MPG.

20K miles a year @3.50/gallon:

TL=$3500/year
SRT=$4666/year

So is $97/month worth it? For someone (OP) dropping $65k on a SUV, I am sure that is quite negligible.

Needed an SUV because of my second dog..Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT

I traded my beloved 4G TL 6MT for the GC SRT

I will end up driving often my wife Q50 Sport AWD we got in September.

Here is the link to the thread and pics to avoid repetition....comments from "car talkers" can stay here.

https://acurazine.com/forums/fourth-...wd-6mt-926829/

So far happy camper..the 6.4 HEMI is a blast, goodbye Acura

In few days I will book my SRT track experience day complimentary from Chrysler...what track do you guys suggests?? The closest to Seattle is Las Vegas.

I would say Nevada is a great place to do it, plenty of legal off roading to enjoy the other side of the Jeep experience.

I would have loved Laguna Seca but for this year is out.

Intrigued by the California Speedway or the VIR.

lol, the SRT GC does not offroad.

Congrats OP, love the color combo. That truck looks absolutely lethal.

How terrible is the fuel economy though?

Not sure which track you are going to. But we run our Lotus Challenge in SPring Mountain. It is a fantastic track.

PM me if you need any info.

Good luck, and enjoy the track day.

Your experience reminded me of a friend who took delivery of a X6M, and did the S. Carolina delivery. BMW also gave him a track day experience and a 2 day paid weekend there when he bought the car.

Hell yeah.

Congrats and excellent choice even if the mileage sucks.

I've heard the launch control is great. Try it once you get through the break-in period and report back.

Thank you guys

Fuel economy?? What fuel economy??

If you start even just caressing the gas pedal with more love you can literally notice the gas gauge going down...I kid you not....

The ground clearance may not be great but it's still a jeep and jeeps do off road. Many trails in NV are steep but your not climbing over trees or boulders. Moot point as he won't be bringing his jeep there.

Sure. I heard summer road tires do great at climbing loose surfaces at steep angles.

If that's your definition of off roading then a Honda Element or Kia Soul will do just fine.

Go to youtube and watch some folks ripping an SRT8 around in the dirt with stock tires and tell me again how doing it in an element or soul would compare.

You're going to come up about 4 liters shy of a good answer. Going to pick up milk in a Ferrari is different from pickin up milk in a civic even though both are capable of doing it

I think you and I have very different definitions of what "off road" means.

Nice pick-up. I'd dump the 4G and the Q50 for the SRT! Life's short, Smiles per gallon > Miles per gallon.
