Need brake advice--please help!
I'm back to my trusted panel of experts (aka "you guys" ) for help in choosing new rotors for my Honda. I just got a brake job done in June and now the mechanic says the rotors are warped after being machined. He said Hondas are known for this problem. Anyone care to weigh in on that? In any case, I need new rotors. I've come across a few sites that offer OEM parts and the OEM rotors are more then Brembo brand rotors. I would obviously be drawn to the Brembos. But, since we just replaced the calipers, we're keeping those. Can I use a non-OEM rotor with a stock caliper? What websites do you recommend for parts? Also-what about slotted rotors? Are those an option?

I know it sounds way cheap, but I went with some rotors from autozone and they've worked fine for nearly 15k miles now, no warping (the EP3 Si is notorious for warped rotors too).
I figured out that a lot of the problem was that my lug nuts were on waaaaay too tight, so now I only tighten them with my torque wrench using factory specs.

Not if you are talking about Brembo replacements, also known as Brembo blanks. They are about a crappy as they get. Basically they have them imported from overseas someplace by the lowest bidder, so to say, and sell them with their name on the outside of the box.
Don't get me wrong, Brembo is a damn good brake company, but only if you were to upgrade the whole set-up.
Mr. Heeltoe is a vendor, you'll find more in the black market, that sells a set of rotors. I don't know about the overall quality of the rotors, but they appear to be good in regards to looks/ styling/ appearance, however you want to look at it.
I have the StopTech replacement drilled rotors, and while they work damn good, the overall look of them sucks in regards to accumulating rust around the hat.
If you're not going to upgrade the whole brake package, it is really hard to find a company that will make a good exact replacement rotor. Don't know if all that helps.

The warped rotor feeling is often not really a warped rotor. Often it is an uneven amount of pad material that has been transfered onto the rotor giving the warped rotor feeling. See this link for more details on that. http://www.stoptech.com/whitepapers/...otors_myth.htm
