I been having trouble starting my car but could get it to start took it to oreillys to see what the prob was have a bad battery and need a new alternater regulator. Well a few days ago I went out to start my car and I heard a loud noise under the hood now the car don't start at all. Any ideas? Could it be because of the battery and all that cause when I turn my headlights on they're not dim.

Does the engine crank? Does it just click? Do the dashboard lights dim when you try to start? Have you tried whacking the starter a couple of times? It could be your starter going.....

If you have the ability to jump it with another vehicle, I would try that to rule out another dead battery or did you replace it the first time? Also make sure your battery connections are clean of corrosion and tight.

Did you change the battery and alternator?
If you changed the battery but not the alternator, the new battery will just get discharged after some use and you'll be back to having a dead battery.

Haven't went to get a new battery yet or the alternator but I did have someone try to jump it yesterday and still wouldn't start. But I went outside awhile ago just to make sure about the lights and they do dim a little when I try to start it

If you have cheap cables or incorrect procedures, jumping a car might not work. I've had, on more than one occasion, come out to jump a car "that couldn't be jumped" and got it started up just fine. I even made a post about it back in 2012:

Did they do a bench test of the alternator (physically remove it from the car to test it)? That would be my first test. Batteries are simple to diagnose alternators really need to be being tested.

He can at least give her a jump. Justn could definitely regulate that thang and alternate the position. Hopefully after finishing up, the load isn't too heavy, otherwise it might blow up in his face.
